Title: Re: Sad news from Chris/PD Post by purpleydog on Jun 12th, 2006, 1:01am Thank you everyone. My grandmother was a very special lady. She and I were very close, our relationship was more like good friends, even though she was my grandmother. We would talk about anything and everything. She always loved to make things, and when I was younger, she would sew all my clothes. I always go compliments on them. She loved to make afghans, and quilts, and she would make dolls of all shapes and sizes. I have many, many things she made. She was known for her sewing and crafts. She was a fighter, and in her later years, she would be in the hospital for this or that, and would give the docs a run for her money. She had a few close calls, but always came bouncing back. She got emphysema, she smoked for 50 years, and was on O2 and breathing treatments, but didn't let that slow her down. She and my grandpa were married for 66 years. I've never known anyone married so long. She and I had a lot in common, and were very much alike. I've been spending the weekend going through pictures to put up at the visitation. I have hundreds of them, and they sure bring back the memories. :) She was one cool lady. I will miss her. You can't pick your family, but whoever picked her for me certainly did well. She was the best. :'( |

Grandmas are just gray haired little girls..... they have all the same ideas and dreams we all have in younger bodies... Remember you can carry her on your shoulder now, or in your pocket. She is with you always..... the times you wished you could have her with you. You would say " I wish Gramma could see this"... well she can now... you can talk to her in a traffic jam..... Keep Grampa close for he will probably join her soon... its another love story... God just bringing our Grandparents home to start our families over again~ there... be well and know my heart still aches too... Ree |
