Title: Help! Who can do better than the sodding Paper Cli Post by Ueli on Jun 10th, 2006, 5:08pm The M$ Office paper clip is designed to drive people into fits of rage, does anybody disagree? My problem: I want to insert the current date and time into Access table field. In my previous Access version the shortcut keys were ctrl + ; and ctrl + : But these don't work any longer and an hour long search in the friggin' help brings no help at all. Does anybody know these shortcut keys? Thanks in advance, Ueli [smiley=smokin.gif] |

Title: Re: Help! Who can do better than the sodding Paper Post by Kevin_M on Jun 10th, 2006, 5:49pm Inserting the paper clip into a wall socket won't work. I had to review the current date, time, and my name again. Took me awhile, couldn't find a shortcut either. like to help Ueli, sounds frustrating, but as you might guess. |

Title: Re: Help! Who can do better than the sodding Paper Post by Opus on Jun 10th, 2006, 11:50pm What exactly is Access? Is it a data base like mysql or a spread sheet like Open Office Calc? Or is it really a strange combination of the two with networking? Maybe I should see if it on my install of Server 2K3, that is if I can get it working. Try the MS knowledge bases, probably an advanced MS users group would give you some answers. Opus/Paul |

Title: Re: Help! Who can do better than the sodding Paper Post by ShadowLord on Jun 11th, 2006, 2:50pm M$ Access is a database application. I haven't used it myself, but it's from M$, so it's prolly broken. PFDAN........................................................ ShadowLord |

Title: Re: Help! Who can do better than the sodding Paper Post by Kirk on Jun 11th, 2006, 3:24pm MS Access used the Jet Database Engine. End of life for it was announced by MS in 2003. So there is no support. You might find a user group that could tell you. Or migrate to MySQL or PostreSQL which have support. They also have more features. MS has a database to replase Access called MicrosoftSQL. Not sure of the price. Because of the lack of functionality in the Jet DB Engine I've never used it. [smiley=smokin.gif] |
