WOULDN'T IT BE GREAT TO TURN ON THE TV AND HEAR ANY U.S. PRESIDENT, DEMOCRAT OR REPUBLICAN GIVE THE FOLLOWING SPEECH?

My Fellow Americans: As you all know, the defeat of Iraq regime has been completed.

Since congress does not want to spend any more money on this war, our mission in Iraq is complete.

This morning I gave the order for a complete removal of all American forces from Iraq. This action will be complete within 30 days. It is now to begin the reckoning.

Before me, I have two lists. One list contains the names of countries, which have stood by our side during the Iraq conflict. This list is short. The United Kingdom, Spain, Bulgaria, Australia, and Poland are some of the countries listed there.

The other list contains everyone not on the first list. Most of the world's nations are on that list. My press secretary will be distributing copies of both lists later this evening.

Let me start by saying that effective immediately, foreign aid to those nations on List 2 ceases immediately and indefinitely. The money saved during the first year alone will pretty much pay for the costs of the Iraqi war.

The American people are no longer going to pour money into third world Hellholes and watch those government leaders grow fat on corruption.

Need help with a famine? Wrestling with an epidemic? Call France.

In the future, together with Congress, I will work to redirect this money toward solving the vexing social problems we still have at home. On that note, a word to terrorist organizations. Screw with us and we will hunt you down and eliminate you and all your friends from the face of the earth.

Thirsting for a gutsy country to terrorize? Try France, or maybe China.

I am ordering the immediate severing of diplomatic relations with France, Germany, and Russia. Thanks for all your help, comrades. We are retiring from NATO as well. Bonïchance, mes amis.




I have instructed the Mayor of New York City to begin towing the many UN diplomatic vehicles located in Manhattan with more than two unpaid parking tickets to sites where those vehicles will be stripped, shredded and crushed. I don't care about whatever treaty pertains to this. You creeps have tens of thousands of unpaid tickets. Pay those tickets tomorrow or watch your precious Benzes, Beamers and limos be turned over to some of the finest chop shops in the world. I love New York.



A special note to our neighbors. Canada is on List 2. Since we are likely to be seeing a lot more of each other, you folks might want to try not pissing us off for a change.



Mexico’s also on List 2. President Fox and his entire corrupt government really need an attitude adjustment. I will have a couple extra tank and infantry divisions sitting around. Guess where I am going to put’em? Yep, border security.

Oh, by the way, the United States is abrogating the NAFTA treaty - starting now.


We are tired of the one-way highway. Immediately, we'll be drilling for oil in Alaska - which will take care of this country's oil needs for decades to come. If you're an environmentalist who opposes this decision, I refer you to List 2 above: pick a country and move there. They care.  

It is time for America to focus on its own welfare and its own citizens. Some will accuse us of isolationism. I answer them by saying, "darn tootin."


Nearly a century of trying to help folks live a decent life around the world has only earned us the undying enmity of just about everyone on the planet. It is time to eliminate hunger in America. It is time to eliminate homelessness in America. To the nations on List 1, a final thought. Thank you guys. We owe you and we won't forget.

To the nations on List 2, a final thought: You might want to learn to speak Arabic.

I would love to hear him say it was all just a bad dream. I was not stupid enough to invade Iraq without decent international support.  I was also not dumb enough to try to openly bully the rest of the world without considering the political and economic impact and the resulting surge of democratically-elected radical-leftist American-hating leaders in so many of our Latin America neighbors did not actually happen.   I did not make a failed attempt to merge some of the governments most important functions into one 'golden hammer' home-security branch and it did not result in a catastrophic failure during one of our nations worst natural disasters.  It's was all just a bad dream and we still have a shred of the dignity we did 5-6 years ago.  

But that's just me.   8)

Speak for yourself, and no you don't get it.   It's true I dislike Bush, or at least I am annoyed with him.  But that's very recent.   My reasons for feeling the way I do are purely based on what has happened since 9/11.  I feel like the executive branch took advantage of the new situation to push a neo-conservative agenda, I think the results are going to be a long term problem for us and it makes me mad that it happened.  That's all.

Note it says any president, democrat or republican. Both have done their share, Iraq, Bosnia, Somilia, etc, etc,

I don't know about you but I have as much dignity and faith in my country as I did 5 or 6 years ago, hell or even 30+ years ago.

To be perfectly honest I don't care for any damn politicians from either party. Maybe it is just time for us to let the rest of the world take care of their own crap.

Not exactly what I meant by dignity.   I am a loyal American moderate with paleo-conservative sympathies.  Conservatives really need to learn the difference between paleo-conservatives and neo-conservatives.   Two very different drum-beats and different viewpoints, the confusion between the two is the neo's best friend.

I do speak for myself and I do get it.  What should we have done after 9/11?  If he did nothing to develope some kind of security, then everyone would have been bitching that he did nothing.  And if there was another attack on US soil, then he would have heard about that even more.  Can't have it both ways.  Hind sight is 20/20, and it is easy to pick apart every little thing that has gone wrong.   ::)

One aside to that article from Flo. The military, in all it's wisdom, is taking kids diagnosed with PTSD from their tour in Iraq... and guess where they are sending them? Yup...back to Iraq. Yeah, that's where they should go...  :-/
I'm afraid we'll be hearing more about civilian massacres as time goes on.

Read the article! the people quoted are Military commanders, Military wives and retired military.
Are you saying they aren't heros because they have an opinion or because the opinion doesn't jibe with official opinion?

This is the way it should be handled and the way it has been handled in the past.  Anyone who speaks on any on-going military action is usually court martialed.  When did McCaffrey retire?  1996, so he has never been boots down in Iraq, doesn't know the plan of the commanders over there, he is arm chair quarterbacking.  Yeah, he did a little report that ripped the command, but he did it from 3000 miles away.  And, as for what that Marine wife said...well, as hard to believe as it is, there has always been hazing, drug use and drinking in the military.  Some partake, some don't.  What she has done, is throw the entire unit, the Marine Corps and action over there, down the toilet, by that statment.  Now everyone who has served over there is going to be looked at as a drunk, drug user, who shoots first and asks questions later.  It's not the case.  My whole deal with this is that, we were told before the action started that it wouldn't be over quickly, that it would take time and it would cost lives.  Now that everyone has forgotten that, it is time to rip apart the command, the Presidnet and the troops on the ground.  Ask anyone who has come to this country from some war torn part of the world and they will tell you that America is the best place on the earth and that we should spread our demoracy across the planet.  Maybe everyone who has grown up in America with the freedoms that we have, is spoiled by them.  Maybe everyone should have to put in some time in the Service.  See what other people go through.  Maybe then everyone would respect the country a little bit more and see what we are doing isn't a bad thing.  I'm off my soap box ;)

Who saw the worst season ending of what has become the biggest hack show ever...The Soprano's.  Blech...Way to bring the suck for an entire season, David Chase.  Brokeback Mafia.  I'm glad I waited the 17 years or what ever it was to see that garbage...If it wasn't for Lucky Louie, I would cancel my HBO.  I want the 13 hours of my life, that I wasted on this season, back.

Last night's season finale was so boring I can't even remember what it was about.   I think they plan on eight more episodes.   I am just waiting for the next 'Rome' season,  now that was a good HBO series.

I love this post so I figure I'll bump it to say what I have to say. What I don't have to say,  but I love stirring the pot so I'll say it is... Goddamned redneck hicks! The rest of the world disagrees with an immoral war that we should have not gotten our butts into so now they are evil for saying what most Americans have been saying? What about the illegal wire tapping we do nowadays?
On another note (and the real one I'm here for), for those who know me you know what clusters have been for me. I started them when I was 18 and within a few years I went from 2X p/yr to 2-6 week breaks from them. After over a decade of that I went to geting hit 6-10X p/day from 1998 until... wait for it... last July (2 weeks before I turned 40).  I haven't really been here for a couple of years and in the last one I went from morbidly chronic (yes I tried it) to almost a year of NO clusters at all. I still get some kind of headaches still (could be shadows and could be something that used to trigger them) but nothing where I have to do much but stay semi-still for 5-10 minutes. On another note (and the real one I'm here for), for those who know me you know what clusters have been for me. I started them when I was 18 and within a few years I went from 2X p/yr to 2-6 week breaks from them. After over a decade of that I went to geting hit 6-10X p/day from 1998 until... wait for it... last July (2 weeks before I turned 40).  I haven't really been here for a couple of years and in the last one I went from morbidly chronic (yes I tried it) to almost a year of NO clusters at all. I still get some kind of headaches still (could be shadows and could be something that used to trigger them) but nothing where I have to do much but stay semi-still for 5-10 minutes. Aw, Teddy, why'd ya bury this here in this thread?  This post should have a thread all it's own.  Hell, it should have a PAGE all it's own.  

I'm one of the ones who know you here and I do know the hell you went through.  I remember chatting with you online and, in the space of a couple hours, you'd get hit as many times and I could feel how close you were coming to the edge.  I remember your Blue Lip  Boogie, and I'm sure Georgia does too!  Thank God Georgia was on the ball that day!!  

This is fantastic news, Ted - this is to be celebrated, not buried in a political thread.  You were labelled as an 'intractable chronic'.  You tried pretty much everything under the sun to no avail.  At one point, your only friend was oxygen and it even betrayed you at times.  

I couldn't be happier for you, Jayacat, you know that.  I hope you're out there enjoying the sunshine and living life as it is meant to be lived.  Your post gives everyone hope and everyone should know of your victory!  Thank you for posting this!!

And that's a good point. I created this screenname when I forgot my password and hit the "forgot my password" button several times but never got one sent to me for "Ted." Then I wanted to post the post of hope six months ago but forgot my password for this one too. So, after several hits of "forgot my password"  and no reply I waited and tried several months later. And after a few days I started the new name that you put up here (It was suggested to me if I wasn't getting the password to start a new name and try again).  Then I got the password for this one, though I'd prefer to be writing as "Ted."
I'm not sure what this has to do with why I posted my post, which was to give hope to those who are still suffering and thinking the world is bleak and these will never stop. For those of you who are at that point, re-read my post and take it for why it was put there. And if Jonny's been free of these too for a while, take strength there too. Chronics that you never expected to be rid of these are rid of these. I did the shrooms and jonny didn't. Stay strong. No matter your path to freedom, it's there if you hang on.
