Helen,

that's one brilliant idea. I've been thinking about it for a while, actually. I LOVE London and one of my pals is planning to move in there this year. So I'd have lots of reasons to visit... :)

There is one big problem: I have some classes left and I don't know the fall schedule yet. Once I find that out, I can figure out how to make it happen... ;;D

So you think that your country can take us all at once...? ;)

Can't do it.......Brad's shop is struggling and no house/pet/kennel sitter. Rite now I don't trust anyone to even think about hirein sumone. Coulda brought my big exotic cat that gets depressed when I am gone long and dress him up like an ugly furby baby. (he's not ugly tho as a cat) But it's a no go.........don't do anything I would do Pam  8)

Don't know most the people on here now days so doubt we are missed anyhow.......sigh !  

Betcha it'd be a beautiful RIDE up there.................

 Pam, you have been on this board since before I started and you have always been one of my favs, so I will miss you if I manage to make it. I'm afraid it is a medical/financial thing so I may just be a late party crasher but I am sure going to try.

 Family mostly live in Chicago so I know if I can get that far I will at least manage a visit and a day at the Clusterbuster shindig.

Depressed we can't go.....made it two years in a row and was on my TOP priority list of things to definetly DO and we do alot. Even if I didn't get to talk to everyone cuz I am shyier then ya'll think it was a GOOD feeling just bein around everyone. A WELCOME feeling......ya'll will find out what I mean if ya never been to one.

Well I figured I'd be there no matter what - you know unless they needed to do brain surgery or some silly thing (which I would have made them reschedule).  Shouldn't have any family deaths (knocking on wood).

Rooms reserved, arrangements all made, everything good to go, then yesterday I got hit with a $4000 bill to get my A/C and furnace fixed.  *sigh*  Welcome to homeownership, the American dream.

I can't afford to do my naturalization because my damn house is costing me too much money!!!

IF you are paying 4k to fix a furnace, you can buy a new one for that....and get change back.

The 4k is to put in a new a/c unit and a heat pump along with all the other funky stuff they have to do that goes along with it - something about the plenum, and the one that's there now needs replacing, except it's been banned, so they'd have to modify everything to replace and the part alone would be $500.  So if we do the heat pump and a/c unit, it costs $3600 now, we then get a $250 credit from Omaha Power and then we get $120 credit on our energy bills every 7 months.  That will get us another year maybe 2 before we have to replace the bottom half of the furnace and be much much cheaper.

In addition we are looking into putting in a tankless water heater as well, depends on what kind of deal they can work out with us for all these damn repairs.

Ok, off to home depot, much to do.
