Title: I was unaware Post by Dragnlance on May 23rd, 2006, 12:57am This is me after my hit the other day, (about 5 hours after it aborted) Notice my right eye? I never noticed the droop before. My wife says it always does that after a hit. (she cant see it durning a hit because I am always holding my hand against it.) She says that is why I always seem to turn my head to the right when there are pictures, so the left side shows more. http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i185/Dragnlance/headachehangover.jpg |

Title: Re: I was unaware Post by Lizzie2 on May 23rd, 2006, 12:47pm Lance, You look great there! I can't even see the droop! Now you want to see a CHitty pic...check out the following one. I have a heart monitor attached to me, an IV of continuous lidocaine going in through the double lumen PICC line in my left arm. At least my trusty "Prairie Bear" is with me in the hospital! I was 24 years old in this pic, and no idea what day of the hospital stay I was on out of the 17 days I was there... My eyes look like crap...! http://tinyurl.com/zaw8z Or try checking out my right eye in this pic...the day of my senior piano recital in May 2004. I had been hit with 5 CH's the night before this!! http://tinyurl.com/ksdg9 |

Title: Re: I was unaware Post by Tom K on May 23rd, 2006, 2:37pm I try to avoid pix when I am in cycle, since the flash sets me off. If I do have to have a pic taken, I usually wear sunglasses. During one cycle, I was standing up in a wedding...oh what fun that was :-/ I took off the shades for some of the pix but when it started winding up, the shades went back on. I know from looking in the mirror, my forehead looks like Frankenstein at times during a bad spell. |

LOL That one was my 3rd. The first one went up the internal jugular, and the 2nd threw two blood clots in my left arm. That 3rd one actually has a pretty funny story that goes with it...it was placed in CVIR and one day, a tech on the cardiac unit tripped over the lines and went flying into the wall - the site bled at my arm...but I was definitely more concerned for him! He wouldn't show his face in my room again after that - constantly skipped my vital signs and left it for the nurse to do, etc. It was pretty funny....but only after I knew the line was okay! |

Title: Re: I was unaware Post by Charlie on May 24th, 2006, 12:32am OUCH. Just thought I'd post that while spending most of the day being stress-tested and godknowswhatelse, I learned that one of my nurses aides had a brother that had CH for several years but like me, no more. Her description was classic and the effect it had on everyone around him. Never heard of us! I'll never understand this. I came here within a few weeks when I got on line just to see how alone I had been. Yikes. I will give medical types around my town credit for knowing that they aren't migraines though and that they cringe when I mention them. Charlie |
