Title: It has been so long... Post by Jim R on May 20th, 2006, 9:02pm since I have been able to get on this site again - computer glitches/changes. I hope all the people I have know through the years are still here and not in pain - that's the most important thing. Yes, they've started again- erratic, unpredictable, varying in strength. I've been unemployed since 11/05 and just have become employed. I exhausted most of my savings on medications over those months and then ran out of $; weaned myself off my clonodine and verapamil and then they hit. Weird time too, as I usually get them in the fall as the light fails, but I really never can predict anymore. I had a few shots of imitrex left and I took them, even though I wasn't supposed to with uncontrolled high blood pressue (my med regime is supposed to control both...) but I didn't care. You know, waking up and hour or two after you go to bed, moaning, beoming conscious thinking, "oh sh*t, not this". Yeah. Sucks bigtime. Anyway, I got my supply of pills with my last little bit of money and it is getting better, for moment. Hey look, I'm 50 now and my neuro keeps telling me it gets better with age and the inevitable hardening of the arteries (never though I would wish for this!), but it hasn't - I don't know if this is a good sign or bad (hey, am I aging better than others! LOL!) but it's not. PFDAN's t all my 'ole bor's and sis's and I'd love to hear from all of you and newbies too. Hope you're all having great weekends. BTW, I live in NH (yeah, flooding - big time) but am working in Indiana for two weeks at a time between trips back home. And yes, I am still living with my eldest son and my ex-wife (to whom I soldmy portion of the house - don you think this might have anything to do with the pain????!!) but am trying desparately to get out - an ugly situation - not my son, but the other). BEST, Jim R |

Title: Re: It has been so long... Post by BobG on May 21st, 2006, 12:55pm Hello Jim, Waiting for hardening of the arteries? I'm 59 and was doing that too. But, sorry to say, it hasn't happened yet. Here's what I'm trying now. Eat lots of red meat and deep fried food. Anything with lots of fat and grease. Get the cholesterol level up. Clog those arteries and make ‘em stiff. Then they can’t swell and push on your trigeminal thingy and make it hurt. Problem solved. Would you like fries with that? ;;D Just kidding. Good to see you back. And glad to hear you're working again. Please send us some rain. |

Title: Re: It has been so long... Post by Jim R on May 21st, 2006, 4:15pm Thanks everyone. Hey, already have high cholesterol and it ISN'T HELPING! LOL! And to top it off, where I am working in Indiana has NO GOOD RESTAURANTS - that REALLY sucks! Maybe I can find a few bars though, with my trusty verapamil/clonodine/imitrex cocktail as my savior though!! ;;D Jim R |

Damn! 53 here Jim and I've spent most of my life trying to keep my arteries limber. I guess your docs right, cause my CH isn't improving a bit although my BP is perfect. ;;D |
