Title: What do you think of this ? Post by BlueMeanie on May 20th, 2006, 12:25am Today the Illinois Supreme court threw the 4rth Amendment to the constitution out the window. Police in Illinois can now use drug sniffing dogs to check any vehicle WITHOUT having a reasonable cause. If you have an air freshener hanging from your mirror, you'll most likely be checked. There is less privacy in this country each year and it's getting worse. >:( |

You wanna know what I think? (ya probably don't..but you asked) MOST Peace Officers in MOST States do have reasonable cause. Vehicles are for the transport of persons from one point to another. Today the turds use them to transport drugs and/or weapons from one point to another. You would be amazed at the idiots that have this stuff exposed, in full view. If the shit is exposed, then that's not a search. Yes it's confiscated...but still not considered a search. Illinois is not the only State that uses the K 9's. Lots of States do it now. Personally, I think it's great. Consider this, Bob....do you have any idea of how many vehicles on the highways and city streets have weapons in them? You would be amazed. I don't know the actual statistics, but it's a helluva lot more out there than there should be. And I'm not including Certified Peace Officers...or people with CHL's. In all the years I've had a license to drive, my vehicle has been searched 1 time. That was after 9-11, and a mandatory search when I was entering the parking lot of a Federal building. Peace Officers have rights too...they have a right to safety just as everyone else does. The shit that goes on on the streets of each and every State jeopardizes the very life of a Peace Officer. If a reasonable search removes weapons and drugs from the streets, then you should be happy.... Now a person who indulges in that type of lifestyle won't like it worth a shit. Reasonable is a word that can certainly be interpreted differently from one person to the next. I have a feeling I'll regret that I posted to this thread :-/....but I pretty much say what I think and feel. Jean |

Title: Re: What do you think of this ? Post by Charlie on May 20th, 2006, 5:34pm All that money spent on the drug war. What a waste of time, energy and money that could be used for something positive....until it fell victim to budget cutters. Can't have anything positive on the books. >:( Charlie |
