I had to go to the nail salon last night. A girls got have nice nails you know ;;D. So I went in and it took about 15 min. before it was my turn. The girl is cleaning my nail polish off and prepping my acrylic nails to be filled. She grabs the power tool thing she uses, the minute she turns it on it felt like she was using on my eye :-/. Its only 5 pm so I think this will be a small one, I can wait it out. I sit there for exactly 2 more minutes before I realize that if I don’t leave I will be ripping my eye out in front of about 15 people. Then I realize I have nothing with me to abort. :o In my hurry to make my appointment I left my O2 at work and I am out of everything else. I jerked my hand away from the lady working on my nails and run out the door. I left my purse, phone, everything in the shop.
I do not know how I made it back to work. Thank god no one was at work. I was pacing around my cube with 02 and my Ice pack. When the beast finally finished with me, I realize what I did. So I had to drive back to the Salon get my stuff and finish my nails. At first I was embarrassed to go back in. I finally did dragging my 02 tank behind me, everyone was very kind and understanding. I did get hit again but I just sat there with my 02 on and let her finish. I wish I could say that, that was it for the night but they continued on until about 3 am this morning. BUT HAY MY NAILS LOOK GOOD!!!!!! :D

I wonder if there were smells in the shop that triggered them. I know acetone (nail polish remover) is a trigger for me. Damn CH's.

Jimi doesn't like having faded nail polish ya know. :P

Gena, I would have freakin died! I only got hit in public once in my life, and that was in Walmart. It sucked! BUT, at least your nails look GOOD! ;)

here's the superhero version of that story:

"A local woman was attacked by a horrible beast last night at a nail salon while she was having her nails done. The resourceful woman fought the beast off intially, running out of the local establishment, realizing she had left her personal weapons back at her place of work. Struggling to get back to her weapon she collected herself and returned to the nail salon to have her nails completed and face off with the beast, this time with her weapon in hand. The beast again made an appearance and attempted to attack her again, but with defense weapon in hand the local woman prevailed. And got a nice manicure as well......."

Nail polish remover is the worst trigger there is for me, in cycle or out it will set one off almost immediatly. My wife and daughter have to do their nails outside.

Gena,

I'm sorry that you got hit... :( but that was inspiring story. :) I don't think that I would have returned to the salon. You really do live inspite of ch, that is great. :)

Hey Gena, I know just how you feel. Been there and done that at the nail place. I sat for as long as I could then headed outside to walk until it let up. I also had no abortives with me. They do look at you a little strange, but they finished my nails when I came back inside.

I've been hit in so many public places, I don't even think about it anymore. It's just one of those things, and you can't stay inside forever..... 8).

Gena does nail polish remover ever trigger you? It does me, even the acetone free stuff although that's not so bad. I'm glad you managed to get them done but I wish you hadn't had to go through all that first

It (polish remover) has never triggered me before, and I have never been hit in a nail salon. First for everything I guess. The worst part of the whole thing was the mirrors. They are every where CH is ugly, even uglyer when your trapped in a chair and no matter where you look your looking at yourself :P.

It is amazing the pain a woman will endure to have lovely nails.
