Title: Hola! I'm back from Mexico, sort of Post by Sandy_C on May 16th, 2006, 5:20pm My much anticipated vacation is now over and I'm back to the old grind. Sometimes it doesn't pay to leave work for a week because you have three weeks work piled on your desk when you get back. Anyway, we had a wonderful time, despite some setbacks. Our hotel put all of us in "superior" rooms in their new building. Well, the new building is a mile away from the beach, pool, restaurants, and most important, the pool bar. We battled with the manager for 24 hours until we were moved in to their "standard" rooms in their older buildings. My view in the "superior" room consisted of a 6' wide piece of dirt and a chain link fence. Here's my view from my "standard" room http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a372/booterup/47b6db34b3127cce897012d1661e0000001.jpg More pics http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a372/booterup/47b6db34b3127cce897013eca78b0000001.jpg This would be my hubby, Tarey and me soaring high http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a372/booterup/47b6db34b3127cce8970196c263e0000001.jpg Hubby Tarey http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a372/booterup/47b6db34b3127cce8970165ae7a70000001.jpg Me and my personal bartender Luis, who kept me supplied with whatever I wanted to drink all week. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a372/booterup/47b6db34b3127cce897011f9a79f0000001.jpg And, to top off the week, our charter airline Hooter's Air blew a tire on take off which damaged the plane. Huge "BANG" and the plane shook - pilot throttled back and stopped the plane on the tarmack. We were bused back to the terminal and we sat in the Cancun terminal for 12 hrs getting home at 4:00 AM Friday morning. I think I'll pass on Hooter's Air again. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a372/booterup/47b6db34b3127cce8970143e66f20000001.jpg HOLA to my Clusterbuddies http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a372/booterup/47b6db34b3127cce98548abff7210000004.jpg Sandy |

Title: Re: Hola! I'm back from Mexico, sort of Post by cootie on May 16th, 2006, 8:09pm Wow....awesome ! Why the heck would they put you in that other hotel for a vacation with nothing goin on there ? They did that to us when we went to Myrtle Beach the one year......I never seen the ocean and was so excited PLUS to get into sum real summer weather in spring for me was KICK ASS......Ohio was wet and gloomy and cool. So they give us a room in our hotel that was ON the ocean with NO FREAKIN VIEW !! We had a big SIGN over our window that glared in te room so bad you needed to wear sunglasses when sleeping !!! No balcony or anything that I had specifically said we wanted. At 169 to 189 bucks a nite for a week we better get a view !!! The room was aweful.........they'd just been spraying for 'sumthing' too in the halls and rooms.....sum sort of ants ? And they'd just cleaned the carpets so they were kinda damp and I hate carpet cleaner stuff. So they did move us after two days to a nicer room on the top level......that balcony view made me dizzy. Glad ya had a nice vacation......great pics !!!! I need a vacation Pam |

Sorry, Nani, no pics of cabana boys, although there were some there I wanted to pack in my suitcase and bring home. Tarey, however, took a couple of shots of some beach bunnies :-/. You can see what HIS favorite part of our vacation was ;) http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a372/booterup/47b6db34b3127cce8970193e266c0000001.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a372/booterup/47b6db34b3127cce89701bbd26ee0000001.jpg |

Title: Re: Hola! I'm back from Mexico, sort of Post by Sandy_C on May 19th, 2006, 1:29pm No, didn't go to the ruins. Full day almost 8 hours, many of those riding the bus (pronounced boos). I preferred spending my time on the beach and at the pool bar. Plus, you can't climb up them anymore because they are crumbling down, not that I would want to climb them anyway. All you can do is walk around them, take pictures, and buy "authentic ruin souveniers". I bought a picture postcard and said "nuf". And if we annex Mexico and give them statehood, who is going to be elected to be President? Juan, Jose', Eduardo, Hectore', Jesus (pronounced Hesus)? No thanks. Sandy |
