My sister, nephew and niece have houses north of Boston. My sister's house in Beverly has several inches of water in the cellar (for the 1st time in 20 years). My nephew's and niece's houses in Beverly and Rockport have 8" water in the cellars. All 3 have sump pumps running all day and night.

Dont swim in the Merrimack river, a broken pipe is pumping 35 million gallons of raw sewerage into it a day. another 115 million gallons a day will soon add to that from another plant that is under water.

Nice!!  Nothing like raw sewage to bring out the best in water sports.

It's been on and off showers and storms here in southeast MI, rivers are crested but not much flooding.  It's suppose to continue for the seventh straight day this way tomorrow, which usually continues East.

Saw some pictures of NH, ME, and MA.   Pretty deep.

Meanwhile...in New Mexico...
2 days of constant storm systems, and nary a drop makes it to the ground. It's evaporating as it falls.  :-/

Y'all be safe and I hope it ends soon. Sending dry prayers and vibes (I've got plenty of "dry" to send your way).

Just a thought (yes I have one on occasion) if you do build an ark, what about Jonny and Chewy? they are both one of a kind...........perhaps lump them together and hope they produce a Chonny?

Been seeing a lot of reports and pictures on the news. Looks bad. Sure hope you get a break real soon.

Out here in our neck of the cactus we're being overwhelmed by sunshine. We'll trade you a little sunshine for a little cloud cover.

As Johnny (as in Cash, not as in the king)would sing (only applicable parts copied).  We could send you some pirogue, eh?

I remember hearing:

How high's the water, mama?
Two feet high and risin'
How high's the water, papa?
Two feet high and risin'

How high's the water, mama?
Three feet high and risin'
How high's the water, papa?
Three feet high and risin'

How high's the water, mama?
Four feet high and risin'
How high's the water, papa?
Four feet high and risin'

How high's the water, mama?
Five feet high and risin'
How high's the water, papa?
Five feet high and risin'

Well, the rails are washed out north of town
We gotta head for higher ground
We can't come back till the water comes down,
Five feet high and risin'

Well, it's five feet high and risin'

So will that make MA the chocolate state?  Don't worry, dryness is on the way.  We were supposed to get rain until Friday and wouldn't you know it, it cleared up today.  The weather man would know more if he looked out the window!

We already have an ark.....it's called the "OUCH Yacht".  It's parked somewhere along the coast of California, last I heard.

Anybody know the scoop on the yacht?

Glad things are clearing up for you guys up north!  I gotta tell you - this week has brought the worst thunderstorms I've seen in awhile! Except it's supposed to continue to rain every damn day here...I don't know how the river hasn't flooded yet!  It didn't rain one day in April, and now we're getting a deluge!

On Saturday night, I drove on the PA turnpike to surprise my mom for mother's day.  Normally, I drive 80mph, and I was driving 25 with flashers on because of the lightning, thunder, and severe rain.  Then yesterday I went out to dinner with a friend, and he walked me to my car, which was on the roof of a 7 story parking garage.  Lightning was coming down all over Philly at that point - it was awesome to watch from high up, but a little scary as we were suddenly a lot higher than much of what was surrounding us and the lightning really was coming down all around!!  It started hailing right as we jumped into the car!!

I haven't been posting much in part because the storm fronts are really hell on my body.  And we've had several fronts a day it seems....this morning I awoke to another lightning storm at around 6am, even though I only slept about 4 hours...and couldn't get back to sleep at all!  Made my whole day completely unproductive because I was exhausted!

I could do with a day or two of sunshine!! :)

Glad you guys are getting some!!!

our neighborhood got hit the worst. they just had a copter in the air over our house showing all the washed out roads. i've got to pick my daughter up in a couple of ours. that will be so fun. they're also afraid all the lightning will touch off fires. we've already had one near the house this spring. we're still doing better than you guys just saw more on the news my heart goes out to you guys. stay dry
