Looking forward to bumping into everyone.

A note on one of the speakers, just so everyone has an idea of what the presentation will entail:
James Joseph (M.S. Indiana University) is a researcher, teacher and author of the recently published book Psychedelic Perceptions

As for the topic he will be speaking on…."I will gear the presentation toward your attendees, who I assume are very interested in the potential of this new treatment method being FDA approved as a legitimate medicine as soon as possible. In order to understand the barriers which psilocybin and LSD will invariably face on the long road to approval, I feel, it is necessary to paint a brief multi-perspective view of the psychedelics. By this I mean: What part have psychedelics played in history, Why was research halted in the 70s, What were the social consequences large-scale LSD use, what (non-physical) threats are posed by psychedelic use  ….etc. Essentially, what are the social, political and financial opposition that these effective treatments are up against. I think this particular audience will find the information very informative and more importantly, it will generate much needed discussion from a broader knowledge base."

I've just bought this book.
I sat and read it from cover to cover in one evening - just couldn't put it down.

I can't begin to tell you how much it has influenced me. Shrooms were one area in which I had grave reservations, huge great fears in fact. In spite of having used the seeds too. Having read this book and understanding more about the whole entheogen situation, their impact on individuals and the potential, not just for CH has quite literally taken every last reservation I had.
It was like the author knew exactly which issues would bother me (obviously I'm just as unique as everyone else! LOL) Every doubt and question I had was written about in a way I could understand, not from a "this will help you with your ha's" point of view which I've had from others but in a totally unbiased, frank almost dispassionate way (although its very obvious the author believes passionately in his subject!)

Whilst I wouldn't ever discount the advice I've had from others, it's always been at the front of my mind that they are biased towards the shrooms and that's been something that's held me back.

I know this is MY perception but I also know there are alot of other ditherers like myself who, if they read this book, would probably find the same comfort and new awareness from it. I can't recommend it enough to anyone who, like me, hasn't tried psilocybin, is unsure about it in anyway and needs more information.
It should practically be required reading  ;;D

I am really looking forward to hearing more from this man.
If anyone wants to know more have a look here

Helen, that was a beautiful message. Thank you dearly.

Take a look at this. It's a film clip. Dr. John Halpern, a psychiatrist at Harvard Medical School, will be a featured speaker at the OUCH Convention in  Milwaukee and the Clusterbusters Convention in Chicago. He is in this film clip at the end.

The only thing strange about your message is that you promiscuously used that bizarre limey word "whilst"  [smiley=laugh.gif]

Well what do you expect - I AM a limey you numpty!  ::)

Thanks for sharing that film, I've bookmarked it so I can watch it again - I really enjoyed it.
Right now I'm doing so well with the seeds, I'm on day 5 of being pain free this time and I'm just sailing through and it's amazing. I'm not changing a winning formula but if CH throws me another curve ball as it's wont to do - well.. I'm not afraid of other options anymore. Not in the least.  :)
I wish I could explain how liberating and how reassured that makes me feel. I know from others experiences that psilocybin is even more successful than the seeds so I'm just in a win-win situation. for the first time since all this started.

AND IT FEELS BLOODY BRILLIANT!!

Sorry BB.. another limey-ism.. suffer it you bugger!  :P  [smiley=laugh.gif]  [smiley=hug.gif]

Marriott has extended the room rate cut-off until July 5th.
They have also added reserved rooms for that Monday and Tuesday nights, at rates still greatly reduced from regular rates.

Hi Nani!
I'm so sad that I won't be able to attend this year...hopefully next year though.  Any idea of next years location??  I'm sure that's the furthest thing from your mind, but just curious!
Take care,
Ladybug

The idea is that the ClusterBuster Convention is a couple hours drive down I-94 from the OUCH Convention. Two clusterhead conventions in one long weekend.

I am pleased to announce that there will be a meeting at the Clusterbuster conference between Clusterbusters and representatives of OUCH US, OUCH Canada and OUCH UK to discuss ideas on how we might work together, in the future, on projects to benefit cluster sufferers.

There is also updated information as well as additional speakers listed on the conference registration page.

Conference room rates are still available through July 5th.

No, you're supposed to bring the tea bags...

I was referring to a little incident couple hundred years ago where there was this little dust up over a tax on tea. So one night some Bostonians, drunken troublemakers to this day, dressed up like Indians and boarded a British merchant shiop and unloadeed the tea into the harbour....started no end of trouble.

And our parents thought that those 4 skinny long haired kids on the Ed Sullivan Show were going to change us forever if we watched.  [smiley=laugh.gif]

They were right, and I'm glad I watched.
