Title: Baby is slow to arrive....
Post by marlinsfan on May 10th, 2006, 5:44pm
We had an appointment to be induced today, but at 5:30 am my wife started to have strong contractions 8 minutes apart. By 7 am she was 5 minutes apart, so we went into the hopsital. It's now 5:45 pm and she's not even half-way dilated yet.... Been a long day, and looks like it will be a long night. She finally asked for the epidural at 3 pm, and has been sleeping for the past 2 hours.

Keep your fingers crossed for us!

However long it takes, they'll be the longest hours you've experienced to date ('cept for maybe CH), but boy is to worth the wait.

Wishing you two all the best.

I can relate to that. Sat in the hospital 23 hours. It was well worth the wait.  :)

Early Congrats to Ma & Pa.

Yeah, the wife wsa 23 hours with the twins.  It was like days to me, and I'm sure like weeks to her.  but when it's all done, you quickly forget.  I remember how scared I was when it was almost time for the actual delivery. the room filled up with three docs and like 5 nurses.  I did not know hat they take extreme care with multiple births.  It's all a warm fuzzy blur now as they head off to college.   Don't miss a moment.   ;;D

It's a boy alright - but not for the reasons Chewy gives.

Here's the deal - did ya ever know a male of the species yet that would actually stop to ask for directions!  It explains why most boy babies are late.

All things in good time Jose - he'll get here when he's good and ready.

Good luck and wishing for you a healthy baby.

Carol

Oh Jose.. just remember when your wife calls you a %(**_(*$%** she DOES mean it but she will forget all about it 15 seconds after the baby is born

When she says you aren't ever coming near her EVER AGAIN.. she won't mean it in a couple of weeks

When she gets the baby blues in four or five days time (after the baby is born I mean) she WILL mean it all again. Just bring chocolate and take it like a man.. she'll get over it again!

One word of advice you might like to bear in mind.. when she is suffering contractions and wanting something to hold onto.. hold out your hand WITH YOUR ARM OUTSTRETCHED.. if she can get too close to your torso the question of you never getting her pregnant again might be a moot point  ;)

I guess now isn't the time to tell you my oldest took five days to be born from the point at which I was at 5 cm dilated so I shall shut up now  :-X

I've been thinking of you since the 8th so I hope by the time you read this you'll be here to tell us all about our new niece/nephew  :)

lots of love to you both
Helen

Remember... No matter what you do in the delivery room... It'll be wrong, and she will make sure to remind you that fact every day for the rest of your life (And ppl wonder why women live longer than men).  Good luck and congrats.

I hope you have a strong hand... My wife, in labor, is the only person I've ever known to almost cause me pain just by squeezin' my hand... Then she rolled my knuckles I really started to second guess whether it was a good idea to let her hold my hand in the first place...  Although, I suspect she was reachin' for something else when she grabbed my hand, so I guess I should be thankful.

PFDAN........................................................ Drk^Angel

P.S.  BTW... Forgot to mention... Remove all rings from the hand you're gonna let her hold... That is an absolute must...
