So, on Saturday, Sarah and I went for a walk here in Toronto.  Just down in street, in Queen's Park, there were something like more than 15,000 people at a rally to promote the legalization of "medicinal" marijuana.  ("medicinal" in quotes, because few of these people had physical ailments requiring marijuana...").  From a distance (~100 yards), you could see a cloud of smoke engulfing the entire park, and you could smell the distinct odor of the herb.  Police here to keep the peace, but although marijuana is decriminalized provincially, federally, it is still illegal.  No arrests, even though it is against federal law (as I understand things).

Whatever...to be honest I really don't care.

The other day I get a Census form in the mail.  Which I promptly lost.  Today I received a note stating that if I did not return my census form, I would be subject to criminal fines, and that people from the census bureau would be by my apratment next week to make sure that I returned the form...or else.

What am I missing here?

Big brother's going to rip you a new one, Eh?  Didn't know they had census nazis up north.  I don't think that's a crime in the US, however if you don't turn it in here they will show up at your door, but they won't fine you.  Bunch of hosers!   :)

According to the US FDA:

The FDA said in a statement that it and other agencies with the Health and Human Services Department had "concluded that no sound scientific studies supported medical use of marijuana for treatment in the United States, and no animal or human data supported the safety or efficacy of marijuana for general medical use."

Do they say anyting about my census form?  Because if I don't find it, and I get fined, my wife is going to be hazrdous to my health!

This would be only one of a long list of ironies with regard to Canada, its government and its relationship to its people. But that's all I'm going to say because Margi and Grandma will chase me down like a swarm of hornets if I start ripping on Canadians....
