Title: Green Post by maffumatt on Apr 28th, 2006, 7:06am I hired the truck driver at the plant and his name dropped off the layoff list there so he withdrew his resignation and quit before he started. I hired a mechanic that had a little RR experiance, he worked Mon-Thursday, got his check and quit so he could drive a truck for UPS. I hired a kid to train on the ground but he is so green I can't let him out of my sight for fear that we will get on the ground, or tear up something. . We picked up a new customer here and they are sending us cars by the mile from a BNSF storage yard, I have been so busy trying to block and store the cars with green people on the engine and the ground that I don't have time for anything else. Finding someone with work ethics in this day and time is almost impossible. On top of it all I bounced back into cycle and am having to deal with that ontop of the normal everyday stresses. I am falling further and further behind on everything. Frustration has become a daily event. I need a break. Sorry for the rant but if I don't get it out I would end up going postal or something. Title: Re: Green Post by BarbaraD on Apr 28th, 2006, 7:24am There's a lot of that going around right now... I just posted on Stevegee's thread... Take a breath and step back a minute.... Go fishing....kill some worms.... get your mind cleared up a little... things will work out - they always do.... If it gets too bad, come visit your dad -- I've got a big shoulder that needs watering.... Hugs BD |

I thought you were talking about changing political parties. ::) (didja smile?, LOL) Sorry you're having to deal with all that and a cycle, too. That bites. Remember, in the big picture...work stuff isn't worth getting all worked up about. Things will work out. hugs and pf wishes, nani :-* |

Title: Re: Green Post by Rock_Lobster on Apr 29th, 2006, 9:58am Some friends of mine are in the same boat with their construction business. Cannot find any laborer-class people who do not stand around with their thumb up their ass if you take your eyes off them for two minutes. On an intertesting note, with all the immigration shit going on... A company that they work with on occasion always has a few illegals doing the grunt work. Hardest working lads on the jobsite. |

Title: Re: Green Post by maffumatt on Apr 29th, 2006, 10:24am Had a guy call me for the job last night, I told him to come in Monday to interview and possibly start. The Gaurd Depart called this morning and asked me not to hire the guy, the dispatcher's son used to buy meth from the guy. Pretty sad...... |

Title: Re: Green Post by Redd715 on Apr 29th, 2006, 10:28am Make the guy pass a full scale drug screen, Company pays if he passes, he pays if he doesn't. LOL |

Title: Re: Green Post by Lizzie2 on Apr 29th, 2006, 10:30am My exboyfriend went through something similar last summer, and it was so incredibly stressful. I could not believe how many people would just not show up, or have a million excuses for why they needed to extend their start date...or just be dishonest, lazy employees to begin with. What's wrong with people? [smiley=huh.gif] Sorry you're having to go through all this on top of having the beast around, too.. :( Hugz, Carrie :) |
