This is a copy of a letter I just wrote to my sis. This happened today, just a little while ago.

Shawn,

No sleep ! Everytime I lay down and start to fall asleep, my head starts BANGIN' ! This is ridiculous. I've had so many attacks today, I've lost track of how many. If this continues, I'll have to at least go back to the ER for some Solu Medrol (Steriods) and DHE 45.

I tried to get out for a little bit today. My friends are all at a party near the Ohio river and Thunder Over Louisville. I was there about an hour when I had another major attack. I asked to go inside to use the restroom so I could give myself a shot of Imitrex and run cold / hot water on my face and eye. It didn't take long before they were knocking on the door needing the bathroom. I told my friends I had to go because I was sick. I borrowed a cell phone and called home to get a ride to pick me up. Well, all the streets were closed and they wouldn't let them through (Even after explaining that they had to pick up a sick person). I asked a Clarksville police officer if she could help me, that I was having a "Medical Emergency". She flat out said "No". They had tons of police riding around on those little golf carts that could've helped me get to my pick-up point, but no one would help. My head was pounding, my heart was racing, my blood pressure had spiked, I was sweating bad and could hardly see. Makes me very mad !! I feel like writing a very nasty letter to the town of Clarksville or to the police department. I might just do that.

Anyways, I'm home now and the attack is over. Waiting for the next one to start. :(

hey michael, glad your home and safe. I went through almost the same thing in my home, the cops called could give a shit. i spent 10 days in the looney bin for it. they look at people who are sick as a blight on the community. hang in there i hope things get better for you. jim

Sorry you had to go thru that!! Bad enough to have a hit in public, but when you can't get help?? I think a letter to the editor of the local paper is in order.. maybe even the TV station

Oh, that's awful, Michael. :( I agree with Lance, a letter to the local paper might get some attention.
Guess I won't be takin' that last train to Clarksville afterall...

I wouuld go one further..notify the local paper AND the Chief of Police..and let the paper know what the response was from the Chief...not offering any help to a person in a medical emergency is unacceptable.
I am glad the hit is over & you are home safe and sound though..Let us know what you decide to do

I'm with the others on this one -- GO TO THE PRESS!!!!

In fact I'd go one further -- go to the National Press! Since that 911 call last week when the mother died because the 911 operator got nasty with that little kid about calling them... now's the time to hit them where it hurts..... Maybe it will wake up a few complacent "officers" who don't care (no offense Gueisp.... you and I both know there are those out there who don't give a rip about anyone).

There is NO excuse for this -- and I don't care who's in town - Medical emergency is a Medical Emergency and should take priority.

In my town the sign on the side of the police car has gone from to " serve and protect" to now to "to protect with honor"

I guess the serve part is not in the job description anymore.

Damn man what a load of CRAP! Isnt it supposed to be Protect and serve?? I have the upmost respect for anyone in the uniform because they are SUPPOSED to be there risking thier lives to protect us. I dont know if we have any cops in our family or not and if so I mean no disrespect but why wouldnt they at least check into it. I know that we have a differnt pain scale than the rest of the world. I sometimes think that that owrks aginst us as well. What might be killing a non Cluster head just makes us moan and groan.
