Title: I am AMAZED Post by Dragnlance on Apr 21st, 2006, 11:09pm I will not mention names, because I don't have permission. I was contacted today by a member here, who, after reading my ranting thread, offered to send me some imitrex injections! They don't even know me, and were willing to send this expensive crap to me!! I didn't tell them this in the pm, but I was so affected, that I couldnt answer for several hours. I cannot express what I feel or what such an offer means to me. Thank you does not say enough, which is why I had to make a public statement. I refused the offer for several reasons. 1) I have always tried to be self sufficent. There was a time when I was unemployed for a while, and all we had to eat was the fish I caught every afternoon after pounding the streets looking for a job. (I hate eating fish now ::)) 2) How can I take something like that when it costs so much and might deprive them when they might need it as much as anyone else here? 3) There are those here who are so much worse off than I. I at least have been without any meds for so long, that being without a little longer until I can afford them is not as much of an ordeal for me as it is for others that have never gone without the meds. 4) Most importantly, my wife badgered the doctors office into giving us a couple more sample packs of the imitrex injections. I now have 5 vials thanks to her. I said it before, I would not have survived this long without her support. I THANK YOU FOR OFFERING me such a fantastic gift, AND GIVING ME MORE THAN YOU KNOW!!! Title: Re: I am AMAZED Post by Opus on Apr 21st, 2006, 11:45pm I have given out of my excess, when you can get 5 vials for $7 you tend to stock up as much as you can. Now my insurance is changed and I don't want to know what it costs. If I do run out, I'm sure what I gave will come back to me. Opus/Paul PS This is freaky, it is like the 3rd post in a row that spell check found no mistakes |

Title: Re: I am AMAZED Post by catlind on Apr 22nd, 2006, 9:33am Lance, no amazement needed. Many of us have visited someone's house and left our meds behind and had to have them mailed back to us. It's not always advisable to post to a public board if someone wishes to send some meds to an unknown person. Like I said though, I've had lots folks come visit and vice versa and forgotten meds and just mailed them back with a little note letting them know they forget them when they were visiting. ;) Cat |
