Title: My New Haircut :)
Post by Lizzie2 on Apr 20th, 2006, 3:09pm
Alright so I'm not sure if posting pictures will work - this is my first attempt at trying this method since I got my PowerBook in January!  haha

I got my haircut a couple weeks ago.  Most of you don't know that my boyfriend and I broke up a few weeks back.  I got my haircut on the day I was going out on my first date after that breakup. ;)  The first date has led to 2 more dates since then, including canoeing, hiking, ice cream, and relaxing on a blanket by a lake for 3 hours last Saturday! :)

Totally can't straighten my hair the way it's done in this pic since she's a professional and I leave my hair curly most of the time because it's faster when I'm getting ready for work, but I think it looks cute here!  Ignore the blood shot, bulging eyes and psychotic look - something about lack of sleep plus lots of head pain and lots of stress lately takes a toll on the appearance.  Last night I was having nightmares about preemies....I swear it's giving me PTSD some days!

OK so here they are...all the same, but slightly different angles.

Glad you've moved on after your breakup.  Hope this new relationship works out for you.

I fixed the links.  Can you see them now?

Yeah this new guy is in the medical field, too.  We have a lot in common.  Both went to PSU and then to Jefferson.  He's a first year intern, and I met him last fall, but we didn't really get to know each other until recently.  We definitely have a lot more in common than my exboyfriend and I had!  I don't know if it's going to lead any farther than where it has, but we did have a very nice 3 dates, so it was just refreshing to have a new start! :)

Good luck on dating.

I like the hair, and I think it probably looks even cuter curly.

Really cute.....did you have sum highlighting put in ? That's a good way to brighten up a 'look' too or at least around the face. I thought your hair was cute as heck curly but then people with straight hair tend to love curly hair. I've been thinkin bout curlin a chunk of my long bangs like I did years ago and loved it.....really spiced up the rest of the straight part. I just did a long chunk from about my eyebrow down and it was a LONG strip of coure. Just looked alot nicer then totally flat. Problem is that I wear a hat when ridein the bike to protect my hair and braid it or band it up and then the hat protects the top from gettin frazzled and breaking off from wind damage. But it's impossible to stuff a long perm'd piece of hair into a hat and keep it lookin nice. When I get where ever and take the hat off my perm'd strand is FUZZ. Got tired of askin for water or rinsein my hand in beer to scrunch it back up curly and get the fuzz out. Wonder if you can leave perm'd chunk flowing in the wind or will it break off ? I have friends with totally perm'd long hair and the more wind the better it looks. Would HATE to try and comb it tho....but I wonder if it damages it more ? Wonder if I should do it......always nice to spice it up a little Pam

I don't want to create that 'finger in light socket' effect.......

edit: I spelled CURLY wrong......it's definetly not CURELY !!

Thanks all!  I'll take a pic sometime soon after I leave it curly - but not the next few days because I know I'll look like crap by the time I get home from 3 12 hour shifts in a row!  ;)

Pam - I don't think the permed section would break off!!

Trick with the curls are not to comb through them before they're wet and have conditioner applied.  If you brush or comb through curls dry - especially when they've been wind-blown into all kinds of knots - you're going to rip your hair.  I do brush through mine before I get a shower but that's because they're softer than those very tight permed curls!

It's fun to have the option to leave it curly or straighten it, though! :)
