Title: Returning, Returning, Returning Post by burnt-toast on Apr 20th, 2006, 11:22am My 2.5 month remission has come to an end. The last two nights/mornings I have been formally re-introduced to this nightmare. I'm dissappointed - I was hopeing to surpass my longest remission of 3 months - but it was great while it lasted. I was backing down the meds. and had just reached 300mg Lithium Carbonate/240mg Verapamil/9mg Melatonin this week when they returned - I'm now ramping back up to see if I can regain control. I also have a Pred. taper waiting in the wings just in case and will try it if base meds. don't do the trick. Oh well, Tom |

Title: Re: Returning, Returning, Returning Post by burnt-toast on Apr 20th, 2006, 11:49am Thanks, but they are unfortuantely never short cycles - the last one was over 3.5 years until this remission but usually average 1.5 years with about a 30 day remission thrown in every now and then to remind me of what normal is and possibly keep me from killing myself (just kidding) - afterall this nightmare likes to keep subjects around to abuse. I'd rather not have these short remissions because they turn into nothing more than reminders of what non-CH life is. Honestly, dreading this nightmare's return is not good for the soul. Oh well again, Tom |

Title: Re: Returning, Returning, Returning Post by karma on Apr 20th, 2006, 12:29pm Tom, Sorry to hear that you're back in the grind again. If you don't mind i've got a couple of questions. First of all I'm episodic with a couple of years in between cycles. My last cycle I used verap and some zomig tabs with a pred taper all for the first time and I got hit longer and harder than ever before. Coincidence? Maybe. I finally got fed up and quit the verap and while the first couple of days were a little tough, I got complete relief. Coincidence? maybe. Just wondering why you wouldn't consider giving some of the non traditional meds a go now that you're going into what may be a new cycle? Seeds, Kudzu, fungi? Robbie |

Title: Re: Returning, Returning, Returning Post by BarbaraD on Apr 20th, 2006, 2:19pm I really hate to be the voice of OPTIMISM ;) but I watched an old movie sometime over the weekend (Pollyanna) and got all UP. Be GLAD you had the remission and got to be Pain Free for a little while. (Ok, she played the GLAD Game - I got hooked). Instead of looking for things to be sad about, find something to be Glad about. It'll wear off, but for right now, I'm just Glad I only got hit with one bad one yesterday. Today I'm Glad I'm only shadowing so far. ;) Hugs BD |

Title: Re: Returning, Returning, Returning Post by Jonny on Apr 20th, 2006, 4:12pm I hear ya, Tom......last nite (After a year PF) I got nailed and had to use the one and only Zomig NS that I had, 02 would not keep it at bay. Today I went and got 12 more Zomig NS and two months of Verap and Lith, Im not going to start the meds just yet cause im hoping that this was just a freak hit. If its coming back I hope its chronic, I cant take being PF and then SLAM!!! Good luck, Tom!! |

Title: Re: Returning, Returning, Returning Post by Jasmyn on Apr 20th, 2006, 4:53pm Sorry to hear the beast is back Tom. Like Charlie said I hope by ramping up the meds you get rid of the son of a blowfish! PS: Another good UP movie is Mary Poppins: "A spoon full of sugar..." Barb I like your style and I also love to have the littleler ones around that replay and replay my favourite upper movies. ;;D |

Title: Re: Returning, Returning, Returning Post by burnt-toast on Apr 20th, 2006, 11:13pm To my Ch friends - in particular Ghost, Karma, Charlie, Sanna, Barbara D, Jonny and Jasmyn. I'll get by just like always - I like to believe tht I'm a survivor who enjoys life - and endures anything - but it can be difficult with this crap. FYI - I've re-greated this nightmare with a mess of medium rare deer chops and about 12 beers. Over the last 2.5 months I've behaved myself - WTF now it's time to misbehave a bit - even if I pay dearly for it. Jonny I am saddened to hear you also got hit, hopefully it's just a freak attack. I would gladly bypass the PF time because it's soooooo short and only tends to remind me of a pre-CH existance. My only wish right now is to someday have the chance to meet everyone - you mean a lot to me. God Bless, Tom |

Title: Re: Returning, Returning, Returning Post by Jasmyn on Apr 21st, 2006, 4:46am Tom, sometimes it is a good idea to just hang loose and try to forget your troubles for a moment. Have a beer for me as well [smiley=me&mb.gif] |
