Title: Re: Tequila my cat died about two hours ago. Post by JDH on Apr 20th, 2006, 1:09pm Sorry for your loss Elaine, maybe this will help. You gotta believe! Rainbow Bridge Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Author unknown... |

Title: Re: Tequila my cat died about two hours ago. Post by LadyElaine on Apr 20th, 2006, 6:53pm Thanks everyone. It was our fault she died, we did not have the money. But in the end it cost us $725 those all night ER for animals they charge a lot. At least they will let us pay what we can each month, where the vet had a 60 day time limit. |

Title: Re: Tequila my cat died about two hours ago. Post by DonnaHar on Apr 20th, 2006, 9:29pm Dear Elaine.....It most certainly was not "your fault" If you had the money and didn't do anything about it, then it might have been your fault!! Don't do that to yourselves. You loved that sweet animal and gave it your best the whole time you had her. I'm very sorry you lost her. Remember the good times. Luv you. |

Title: Re: Tequila my cat died about two hours ago. Post by Neekwa on Apr 20th, 2006, 9:52pm Quote:
Horrible news. First of all I consider myself a 'cat' person, not that I don't enjoy dogs. But after dogs passing away on me I was never in a hurry to get another one since the last. Right now I have one cat that is pretty much my baby lol. As the pet medical expenses go, tell me about it. A few months ago I noticed she (the cat) wasn't getting up off the futon and moving around like normal. Figured she may have had a cold maybe. Then I went to grab her and she cried out ( I thought I may have inadvertently twisted her leg or something). Few days later shies limping around, and her right back foot is swelled. So I brought her in, free assessment but it ended up costing 200 bucks for a one night stay, some medication in an eye dropper, cleaning out her wound etc. Turned out something bit her, and it wasn't me being a klutz or something thank god. Anyway I was cringing at that figure, let alone triple that as in your case. For about a week after I was telling people "Do you know I just spent 200 bucks on my cat" lol. Worse yet, when I went to pic her up it took hours for them to bring her out of the pet hold. Then this pet nurse walks over and says "we really think you will need a carrier for her first." Then she goes on to tell me that she has one available for almost 20 bucks. At that point I said just bring me my cat, and of course I just grabbed her and walked out without her even squirming once in my arms. I'm blathering on again, but sorry to hear it and trust me I can identify with the cost angle. |

Title: Re: Tequila my cat died about two hours ago. Post by Dragnlance on Apr 20th, 2006, 9:54pm Elaine, I understand better than you know. A year ago my 13 year old springer passed away. It was a Saturday, and an emergency visit.. my bill was 570 dollars, but when you don't have it, it may as well be a million. The vets office let us pay it off over time as well. I feel your loss, and am very sorry you had to go thru this. Lance |
