I have noticed over the past mnths there have been some talk about the birdflu

There is no need to cry Wolf
Just use what you have between your ears

There is 108 people dead of the birdfly on a global perspective,but it dies 500000 people of the regular flu every year

Just relaxe

If I'm not mistaken... They're more worried about the avian flu mutating into a virus that can be spread through human to human contact, and if it does, the epidemic it could create. Right now, influenza kills more humans per year than avian flu, but the prognosis for someone who is infected with avian flu is much much worse. Personally... I think there's a higher posibility of the influenza virus mutating into a superflu again, than there is for avian flu.

P.S. Of course, the only three pandemics in the 20th century were all associated with avian flu... The last two appeared to have mutated from a combination of human and avian flu genes. The first one, Spanish Flu, appears to have had an avian origin and killed up to 50 million ppl worldwide.

Awww Hell... It woldn't be the first time we've had avian flu outbreaks in North America... 17 since '97 actually... Of course, only one of those were Highly Pathogenic, and it never crossed over to humans, so I guess the new one might be a little different.

At least you'll be happy to know, that if you do become infrected with avian flu, GWB admended an executive order on April 1, to allow for you to be immediately apprehended and quarantined... Probably for the rest of your life. Sorta like the movie Outbreak... That was a kewl movie.

I was at work the other night Saturday night to be exact listening to Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell.

He had a "specialist" on the show and some how she was able to tie the "Bird Flu" to agent orange.

It was good listening..

Right on the money so far.

It's like Mad Cow Disease. The last time I posted on it less than 150 people had contracted the thing. 2005 I believe. It hasn't mutated either.

Ok IM on my soap box now you have given me the opportunity...... Let's not worry about the bird flu.Let's worry about the staff infections like MRSA and other infections that are rampant in the hospitals in the US and abroad... Both of my parents died from hospital born infections last year and weekly I read and hear stories on the news about the same MRSA infections killing people in prisons, hospitals, baby nurseries... type it into a google search...you want to be scared of something...... there ya go... I think they brought up the Bird FLU to keep our eyes and mind off Iraq..... and don't get me going on all that...... Beware of the birdies.... lol NOT!!! Only when I watch that old Alfred Hitchcock thriller ~~~~~I'm sure they will be remaking that movie soon......love ree

It was on the news just yesterday that there is fear that the avian flu will mutate into a virus that can be spread through human to human contact, and if it does, there is a chance that a geek with dirty fingers working the Internet computers at Stanford will spread the virus around the cyber world.
