Title: Re: Cat.....we need to hear from you... Post by catlind on Apr 9th, 2006, 2:54pm I'm still here, just horizontal most of the time. My head was so bad yesterday I ended up throwing up a few times. Clark took me to the ER and they told me there was nothing they could do for me I had to just stay laying down. I have to call the doc tomorrow if it still hurts and they will try to schedule a blood patch for Tues. This shit sucks big time. :( Cat |

Title: Re: Cat.....we need to hear from you... Post by catlind on Apr 9th, 2006, 9:33pm Tim, as anyone knows I can never go any length of time without my laptop, so hubby has everything set up so I can just reach over to the coffee table and I can check on the board. Of course, I'm not absolutely flat when trying to type, but I'm close. Apparently close isn't good enough though :-/ Prior to this, the longest I ever experienced a non stop headache was nearly 72 hours - a cluster attack that set off a migraine that set off a cluster that set off a migraine. Here I thought I was dying that time, now I know different. This is day 5 of this hellish pain in my head. It feels for all the world like someone is trying to squeeze my brain out of my ears, eyes and nose and that the top of my head is going to literally explode open and brains will go everywhere. As long as I am laying down it is a dull roar, but as soon as I get up for any more than 10 min. my head feels like my brain is being bounced around and banging off my skull. I can't believe they typically wait 2 WEEKS before they will do a blood patch. I am praying for tomorrow morning to come so I can call and beg them for the patch. At first my back was so sore I didn't want to even think about it, but today, damn, someone, anyone do ANYTHING to make this stop!! You know it's bad when you can't even go pee without holding your head for fear it's going to explode. There's only one other time in my life that I remember being in enough pain that it caused me to throw up, and that was child labour, 12 hours of back labour to be specific. Yesterday and today have been spent between laying down and begging for my head to stop hurting, and running to the bathroom to throw up and then screaming at the amount of pain caused by heaving. *sigh* well I feel better for ranting and whining. Thanks for the well wishes and for letting me vent. Off to lay down again. Cat |

Title: Re: Cat.....we need to hear from you... Post by catlind on Apr 11th, 2006, 7:56am Yes I am, at least for longer stretches. Yesterday I was up for a couple of hours before my head hurt too much, hopefully today will see a little longer. Talked to the doc and they said it could be up to 2 weeks before it fully heals. If I am still getting the headache by next week they want to do a blood patch. The receptionist told me about a girl they see that has had a spinal headache for a year, blood patch didn't work and they can't make her headache go away...I said I'd have to seriously consider putting a gun to my head. I just can't imagine. So I'll thank my lucky stars it's getting better and won't do anything strenuous until this is all better. Thanks for letting me vent folks, it helped immensely. Cat |
