Title: Re: OK...so what's on ya'lls agenda today... Post by Grandma_Sweet_Boy on Apr 9th, 2006, 9:30am You are all having such fun that I'm envious. We bought another house a little bit ago and it closed on Friday. The one we're currently in closes in two weeks so today we're wandering back and forth doing things like cleaning windows, taking some of the smaller stuff over and just generally working like dogs. Last week we had the whole place painted and Tuesday the guys are coming to steam clean all the carpeting. It will be like moving into a brand new house. It's actually about 50 steps away from our current house but it's larger and has a beautiful view of the ravine that runs behind the property. Can't wait to sit out there on a Saturday morning enjoying the squirrels running around and just basking in the wonder of it all. It's been a busy few weeks and it will only get busier. Hopefully, we'll be all moved over to the new place by next weekend. The one joy in having 7 adult kids - they can all come and help in various stages over next weekend! I call this payback time ;;D Hope you all have a wonderful time at whatever it is you're doing this weekend. Carol |

Title: Re: OK...so what's on ya'lls agenda today... Post by sandie99 on Apr 9th, 2006, 10:00am I've been busy reading media and fandom theory for my disseration. I've done some packing already. I'm leaving for Helsinki on Tuesday and then to Prague on Thursday. (I always begin to pack well in advance, so I don't forget anything important! Besides, I love travelling...even when it's 3.5 hours in train to Helsinki, where I'm from and where mum & most of my friends live.) Naturally I've been to a relaxing walk outside. It's been a warm and beautiful day! The sun was shining and for the first time this year, it actually felt that Spring is finally coming! I hope that this day will be a PF one to so many of you as possible! :) Best wishes, Sanna |

Taking my youngest son to the walk in clinic and visiting my uncle in the hospital. Putting another skim coat on my daughters bathroom walls. Trying to find the stakes that the electric company put up to move the telephone poles for the new house.....they blew away in our 50mph breeze yesterday. Planting two blackberry plants, 12 day lilys, three flats of Dallas Red Lantana, two flats of Sweet Potato Vine. Grilling chicken for the kids this evening, and making home made ice cream. Last but not least....watching Fantasia with my grandson. And all the while.....pulling for Freddie. Miss ya Jacks! |

Title: Re: OK...so what's on ya'lls agenda today... Post by Redd715 on Apr 9th, 2006, 11:46am Today I'm going to get my nails touched up (every two week treat for myself...I deserve it) After that, I need to go get laces for Jody's work boots (which his cat chewed up) food for said cat that chewed up the laces, then head back to Jody's place so we cah finish getting the new living room coffee and end tables built. We have the tops done, just need to get the legs cut, routered, sanded and attached to the three pieces....I'll take pics of them and post whe we are done. Get this...the table tops are made from left over Teak hard wood flooring that we put into his sisters new house 2 weeks ago. They really look awsome. They will be heavy as hell but at least they will stand up to his 6 year old's abuse...you know how little boys are. Hope everyone elses plans turn out great! Pegg, Meggie, Dylan, Jody and Trenton |

Title: Re: OK...so what's on ya'lls agenda today... Post by Donna_D. on Apr 9th, 2006, 11:57am My weekends are always busy... Working on cleaning the house while the kids are at grandma's. (Did the laundry yesterday) Cleaning out my car (How DO the kids get so many toys in the car??) I have about 10 emails I need to write, all OUCH related and I plan on hunting down Chuck today as well (be warned :P !) Driving the three hour round trip to retrieve the kids and stopping on the way back at my mom's house to work my second job for a few hours helping her with her medical billing service. Loading the kids back in the car and coming home (and then unloading the car AGAIN as they always bring home tons of stuff from grandma's house), helping them finish their homework, and bundling them off to bed....oh yeah, I guess I better feed the little angels sometime during all this. Then I get some "me time" but that usually only lasts for 15 minutes of surfing the web and then I'm too tired to hold my eyes open. Fun stuff.... DD |

Title: Re: OK...so what's on ya'lls agenda today... Post by Redd715 on Apr 9th, 2006, 12:24pm I've never done any sort of wood working in my life. This is a learning experience for me and I'm really enjoying it. Jody built all the free standing furnature in his house, entertainment center, wall unit with the fish tanks, his computer desk, both his and Trenton's dressers, Trenton's bunk-bed set, toy box, a Spice rack for my kitchen that needs to be sealed yet today and then it's done, the old livingroom table set that this new set is replacing. He's done quite a bit of wood craft work as well, I'll take a pic of his Harley Davidson piece he has hanging by his front door. |
