Title: This Could Get Ugly Post by Gena on Apr 6th, 2006, 2:43pm So it has finally happened… We are in cycle at the same time. I think Thomas is on the downslide but I am just ramping up. As I said in the title of the thread this could get ugly. Who is to be the supporter now!!!!!!!!! Damn man used all the 02 and I have yet to see any zomig pills ;) If he gets in the way when I am trying to get to my peas or I find them soggy, there is going to be a war. [smiley=laugh.gif] Help Wanted: 1 third party supporter who will not - I repeat, NOT use any of my abortives. ::) Good thing that the kids are mostly self-sufficient or we would need somebody for that as well. ;) - Just blowing of steam - My head hurts, I have to find a laugh were ever I can! |

Title: Re: This Could Get Ugly Post by Richr8 on Apr 6th, 2006, 4:52pm Gena/Thomas, I admire you guy's. I have often reflected on whether or not I would be able to live with another cluster head, and the answer always comes up no. I feel I spend all I have to give on getting through mine. However, as I am sure you know, love conquers all. [smiley=hug.gif] |

I agree with Charlie: get packet of peas for both. And keep them in separate places... ;) And, I was just wondering, can you take a shower together so both would get hot water? Personally I would kill anyone who would get me near something hot during attack... Although I haven't met another clusterhead - yet - I have been wondering what it's like to witness somebody else getting hit. This post did remind of the episode of Sex & the City in which both Charlotte & her second husband are ill at the same time. Perhaps, when one of you is nearly PF after hit and the other is getting hit, the one who is feeling bit more normal can support the other. I just finished a hit this morning I realized that during the last moments of pain I could have helped someone else. Anyways, I wish you both lots and lots of PF time! :) Sanna |

It's gutwrenching, especially when you love the other person. But on a lighter note, at least we have both had the decency to stagger our hits. ie no simultaneous hits yet, except for the shower episode the other day. ;) |

Title: Re: This Could Get Ugly Post by Gena on Apr 7th, 2006, 8:23am I don't know if this is going to sound right... But living with another person that has CH is great. If I start to get hit and walk away from a conversation mid sentence and slam the door to the bedroom on my way. I never have to appoigies, athough I do. Feeling don't get hurt. Glasses of water just show up as well as frozen peas. There are never any stupid questions or guilt from a spouse. This was supossed to be a funny post. We are fine guys, thanks to all of you for your Love and vibes. |

Title: Re: This Could Get Ugly Post by Paul98 on Apr 7th, 2006, 9:09am I lived with a clusterhead for about 2 years and the CH part of it never seemed to be a problem. Gave what meds I had to them because seeing them go through an attack was harder for me than dealing with my own attacks. Hauled a lot of O2 home in those days. Looking back, I should have bought stock in Glaxo. LOL. I guess my take would be if you care about the other then it should not become an issue. |

Title: Re: This Could Get Ugly Post by Redd715 on Apr 7th, 2006, 2:12pm I know this is supposed to be a funny thread...but I want to add my $.02 worth here. When I started to date Jody, I antisipated fully, that just like the others, he would run for the hills after getting a glimps into this hell when I sent him here to read. His words were...(to the effect, not a quote) "If thats the worst, then I can deal with it." He'd seen me get hit a few times and he was the best.. the absolute best. Little did I know that I soon would see the beast set his claws in him too, time and time again. He would insist it was his "sinus headaches" as he's been to the doctor many times about them and this is what they Dx. He'd take Red Bull, perscription actifed, and Xtra Strength Excedrin Migraine. Over and over during the day, and he'd be up pacing the floor in the night with three icecubes wrapped in a very specific way in a wet dish rag grinding it into his right temple. On one occasion, I walked into the kitchen after dinner, and I saw the beast beginning to take a grip on him, his leg was shaking and he was hunched over the counter pressing his thumb into his eye socket, and I begged him to let me try something to help him. It was ramping up fast and furious and he agreed to let me try the imitrex. I popped him in what little fatty tissue he has on his tummy, and within minutes, the attack was gone but for that familiar niggling and hangover feeling. I was convinced beyond any doubt..."this is NO sinus HA". Jody and I have talked about his history with the beast, and he is technicaly chronic and has been for many years. Spring time does bring him into a high cycle when things are worse. 1) no wonder seeing me get slammed didn't run him off. 2) there is no negative feedback or minimizing this pain by the other. 3) we support each other and kick each others arses when need be to help ourselves, or allow the other to help us. Thomas said it...it's gutwrenching to watch someone you care so deeply about endure this hell. But being a sufferer in addition to supporter, there is a level of understanding and compassion that I feel, (at least in our case) helps provide the ability to remain strong for the other during particularly bad times.
