Title: My son is just steps away from being whole :)) Post by Sean_C on Apr 4th, 2006, 9:37pm As some of you know my son Colin age 4, was born with a condition called extrophy, where his internal parts were on the outside of his body. Most were distroyed during the intense growth of the human body in the process and the docs did what they could to make him whole again. However, 2 years ago we met whith Dr. Anthony Atala, the Chief Tissue Engineer at Boston Childrens Hospital, and we discussed this procedure, at the time it was still experimental but now where on our way to it becoming reality, hopefully someday this will happen for us, hopefully sooner than later. ;;D Someday we might have a cluster cure too, science is everything ;;D ;;D http://www.abcnews.go.com/Health/wireStory?id=1802883 Cheers Sean......................................................... |
