Title: Understanding Family
Post by Dragnlance on Mar 30th, 2006, 3:33pm
Here I sit at work, reading posts, answering when I can, between calls. I marvel at the wonderful diversity of personalities here. We forget animosity to help a family member in need, at the drop of a hat.
After the crisis is over, and the dust settles, we get back to doing the normal family things. Compliments, and fights, good wishes and angry words.
How ordinary this place would be without all of our strong and differing personalities.
Some things that are said I agree with, some I dont.

The point of this post is this. Thank you all for being you, for being here, and dont change, except to grow wiser.

Lance

Well said Lance and so true!
We truly are a family...and at the end of the day, that's all that matters... ;)

Most excellent post, Lance....pain will bring out all aspects of a person, but when one of us is in need, that is where the focus goes no matter what words have been spoken between people in the past (at least for the most of us)

I have not killed anyone at a convention yet, so that holds true to date.....LOL  ;)

Great post, Lance!!

I'm glad strays are welcome here.  You are my family.

I was amazed at the people who passed through the  "Welcome" thread, and moved on.  Maybe just knowing this is here is enough for some.

I need to see what you're doing, myself.

One of a kind family....

Most real families wouldn't step up to the plate to help someone quite like this family does, though....  it's really amazing.  :)

Just like we don't pick our own biological families, we didn't TRULY pick this family either, as none of us would have chosen to get cluster headaches - and our supporters got dragged in to the CH world too - but if we've gotta have them, this is one hell of an awesome family to belong to.

Luv you guys,
Carrie :)

It's comfortable here...it's home.

The friendships I've made here are priceless.    Never in my life have I had friends like the ones here.

Much love,

Jean

LOL....certainly not, Rich.    Guess we're all gonna have to come to Tucson and break you in the right way   ;;D

"Virtual" will not be a part of your vocabulary when you find yourself in the company of another clusterhead or better yet, a room full of clusterheads    :o     You'll never be the same... :-*

Lance, that was one great post. Thank you! :)

When I was reading that, these words came to my mind:
"The only thing worth losing is prejudice,
the only thing worth gaining is wisdom"

Our differences make us stronger. But I've seen so many times how this family unites when one of its members needs help and support. That makes us a real family.

It's easy to say that a virtual community isn't real. But it is. Real, breathing people who post here. I can't wait to meet you some day. :)

Best wishes & PFdays,
Sanna

This is home.  I've made some friends here that I have yet to meet but consider them part of my family.  Have met only one CH in person, and he showed me what kind of a family I could have here.  I'm so very excited about meeting my new brothers and sisters in person in Milwaukee.  Can't wait!

Hugs to my sibs!
