Title: Re: Time Change Post by Opus on Mar 29th, 2006, 9:42am Grrrrrr, Daylight wasting time. It is just so much fun. Trying to get kids to bed when it is a bright as noon at their bed time is just so much fun. Then when it changes back in the fall you go to work in the dark, and come home in the dark. Anything done outside needs a light source. It would be great if they left it as is, so you get at least an hour of daylight when you get home. Opus/Paul |

Title: Re: Time Change Post by LeLimey on Mar 29th, 2006, 12:17pm I love the clocks going back in the autumn.. getting that extra hour is such a bonus but losing an hour at this time of year bites the big one! sitting here at 18:15 though with the kids playing outside and the sun shining is just lovely though and it almost makes getting up "early" tomorrow worth it! After a night of dancing losing an extra hour's sleep is just harsh :( |

Not sure about its origin but I know that it became national during the war. It was said to save energy because of 24 hour manufacturing. Might have been FDR's idea. I've never been crazy about it. Charlie |
