Title: Fired...
Post by Cerberus on Mar 26th, 2006, 10:12am
Yup, handed my walkin papers this past friday...On one hand it sux royally. On the other, I am stress free for the immediate time, and hopefully my cycle will now finally break.

Been in cycle since the last week of February, getting hit (kip 5-7 range) 1-5 times a night, going to work leaving the house @ 4 - 4:30 AM every morning, working my ass off (apparently not hard enough) and spending a large portion of my hard earned $$ to pay for gas (1.5 hr. drive daily) and finally served my discharge Friday (after being allowed to work all day).

Not happy...but at the same time, not too terribly upset, after all there is more to the story...film @ 11

Ok this forum will not allow me to tell the whole story without breaking it up into several parts...I am not patient enough to do that today so here is the summary.

I was directly denied existance AND access to training and documentation to industry standard tools to perform my job to "expectations" more specifically company standards.

I was run "run under the bus" so to speak by several departments within the school proper, for my actions and held accountable for things beyond my control.

And was in direct witness of a C.O.A. (cover our asses) campaign, resulting in my termination this past friday.

My beef:
 1. Why was I not given the proper tools to do my job only until AFTER the problem ballooned into something unfixable.  [smiley=huh.gif]
  2. Why/ when is telling the truth, and being honest not an acceptable practice.  [smiley=huh.gif]
  3. Why should I not be filing discrimination charges against my former employers, the school district whom contracted it, more specifically the school and...possibly individual members of its admin.  >:(
   4. And last of all... Why the *uck do people refuse to accept their roles yet during admonitions preach "accountability" ...WTF!!!? >:(

For the first time in my life I HONESTLY feel that I have reasonable and totally legitimate feelings of having been discriminated against...but... its my word against all of theirs and couldn't possibly win a case as a result. (a waste of time and energy to try)

Otherwise: I'm actually glad to be free of them, since the only things that piss me off worse than theives and baby-killers are those who deliberately lie to my face, and shift the blame to me to save thier own asses. (is there no such thing as moral and social responsibility?)

I may give more specific details later.

If anyone has any... pls advise.

Forgive this ignorant Canadian as I don't know your labour laws, but it sounds like a case of wrongful dismissal to me.

I'm sorry to hear you lost your job, but frankly it sounds more like they lost a good worker - here's hoping they live to regret their move.

Hopefully it'll be a case of one door closing and a much better one opening.

Wishing you tons of good luck.

[[{Ramon]]}  If it's discrimination stuff, then maybe you and I need to sit down and learn all about the legal aspect of all this together between the two of our different situations both dealing with discrimination.  LOL

Don - btw thanks for sending the info on RA.  Got it the other night and read through most of it - although I can't say I understood all of it, but I appreciate you sending the info!!

Ramon - hang in there buddy.  I'm sorry you've had to go through a nasty situation.  But on the plus side, you're out of there - even though it's still hard.  Sounds like the kind of place you want to stay far away from, even though they owe you WAY better than that, most likely.  Stay strong!

Hugz,
Carrie/Lizzie2 :)

They're loss, your gain in keeping your sanity. Who would want to work for them anyway?
Don't waste any time on such idiots.

Been there too, after 25 years of continuous employment  it dropped to 9 mo. then 6 mo then 3 mo.  But don't use the disabled word around here. You can work, you can clean their shit cans, between getting hit right?

Good Luck Dude!

Here is the delightful situation we have when dealing with modern business writing and/or another way to pretend that it's impossible for employers to bear anything resembling blame. This kind of shit is all over.
If I were you, I'd look into revenge of some kind. Try not to get arrested though. http://kolobok.wrg.ru/smiles/user/lex_12.gif?SSImageQuality=Full

Hang on Ramon.

Ramon, this completely and totally sucks....I vote we grab some toilet paper, shaving cream and children's washable finger paint...that way if we get caught the vandalism charges won't be as severe and there will be no distruction of proper charges.

I really hope this opens up a new carreer avenue for you and if possible that you get those rat *edited for language* back.

*huge hugs*

bus, I feel for ya! That really sux.  Basically same thing happened with me a few months ago.

The thing to remember is what goes around comes around- they'll get what's due, you'll see.

So shake the dust off your shoes, wash your hands of them and don't look back. Better, MUCH BETTER things are ahead for you.

hugs, and sending pf vibes,
Jen

That just royally sucks.  Normally, I'm not a law suit kind of person, but anymore I don't know.  The way this country is so PC happy and law suit scared, maybe mere the mention of a discrimination law suit would have them jumping through hoops.  At least it might make sure they have a good reference for you when someone calls.

I know you'll do fine no matter what road you choose.

Unfortunately, this is the norm, not the exception. I see it all the time. At work, at my wife's work, everywhere. Sometimes I wonder if we are all moving targets at an arcade, just waiting to randomly get popped.
