Title: Gave out my blanket... :) Post by Lizzie2 on Mar 24th, 2006, 2:16pm Told you guys it wouldn't take long for me to find a baby to give Mel's blanket to! :) Last night I gave it to a 34 week preemie named Natalie. CUTE as a button!!!! She is like 4 pounds or so....after her bath, I snuggled her in a blanket and carried her cuddled up in my arms into the next room so I could look for a hair comb! haha The blanket looked GREAT in the isolette!! Very sweet... Thanks again Mel and to the person who helped make this possible!! :) Carrie :) |

Title: Re: Gave out my blanket... :) Post by Lizzie2 on Mar 25th, 2006, 11:13am Well that person should just know that they did a really great thing by allowing that blanket to go to a teeny little thing that didn't get the best start in the world! I know she's going to turn out just fine - she had one hell of an attitude. I totally fell in love with her. She's not really strong enough to feed from a bottle on her own, so I needed to put in an NG tube (small tube in her nose) to help her eat. She controlled that situation. She screeched so loud that I stopped and had another nurse do it. She also was not very fond of the heel stick. In fact, not a big fan of the bath either - but after the bath is when I snuggled her and handed her to another nurse because I was afraid she'd worm right off the baby scale in all her activity. I got out a tiny little pink bow to put in her hair, but I ran out of time so I left it at the bedside anyways. She was the epitome of "preemie attitude." [smiley=laugh.gif] I can see her 16 years from now, wearing all pink and kicking some boy's ass to the next planet. LMAO Kids like her make me smile a little more and feel the heartache of the job a little less. ;) Whoever you are - you did a really good thing. :-* Carrie :) |
