Title: I need a jump Post by nani on Mar 23rd, 2006, 9:37am Guess who left her lights on after driving through a snowstorm yesterday afternoon? Guess who's jumper cables are in her husband's truck, which is halfway to Santa Fe right now? Guess who's neighborhood is a ghost town now that everyone's left for work? Can somebody head over and give me a jump? Oh, bring your own cables, too... I'm a dork. :-/ |

A couple weeks ago, I drove my best friend home from work after we put in a looooong 12 hour day in the NICU. Her car was parked at the train station in Manayunk, so I dropped her off and went on my merry way. Normally, I wait to make sure my friends get off okay, but for some reason, I was in a hurry to get home and didn't wait for Amy to start her car and follow me. The windchill was in the single digits that night. I got all the way back to my town (maybe only 15 minutes I guess, but it seemed long!)...and I'd just pulled on my parking break when my cell phone beeped in. Amy said she'd tried to call me as I was pulling out of the lot, but she thought my phone was off - it was just unfortunate coincidence that at that very moment, I'd been calling my boyfriend, so the call didn't go through!! She said her car wouldn't start, and she'd tried to call everyone she knew, but nobody was home. So I went back over to the train station in Manayunk. It was colder than cold...and we were in scrubs! Amy got her fiance on her cell phone, and I got my dad on mine and we managed to hook up the jumper cables and got her car started!! We had to high five cuz we were so excited that us "dumb blondes" could figure this out. hahaha Keep in mind, I'm the same person who got a flat tire that week while driving in west Philadelphia and was too afraid to stop so I drove on it down city line ave until I got to a sketchy hess station and had my dad drive 45 minutes at 10pm on a Sunday night to change it for me! This while my boyfriend was in the car...he never changed a tire before... D'oh!! Then, that same week, I'm also the ditz that poured antifreeze in the winshield washer fluid compartment... Daddy fixed that one, too...with lots of cursing.... Hope that made ya smile at least!!! Sorry I can't be of better help!! Hugz, Carrie :) |
