Title: My personal web page Post by Dragnlance on Mar 21st, 2006, 2:00pm Hey every one. I, as some of you know, do digital art. After a while, looking at your own stuff gets boring. There is a lot of work in some of these, so I dont what to delete them either. SO I put them on the web! I have had this site for more than eight years now. While the update to the site is not yet complete, and some links do not work as of yet, the good stuff is ready to view. If you are of a mind, it IS work and kid safe. ;;D http://www.digital-phantasies.com/ I always enjoy hearing what people have to say. Thanks. Lance |

Title: Re: My personal web page Post by Melissa on Mar 21st, 2006, 2:19pm Well, I gravitate towards the ones that I connect with the most, and these are the ones I like... mysterious_shrine walls strange_object1 & Morning Glory copy It's hard though, to get a real feel for digitography (is that what you call it?). But you do a wonderful job of it Lance. :)mel |

Title: Re: My personal web page Post by tanner on Mar 21st, 2006, 2:24pm Lance, your work is as great as your heart is large! I took the time to spend the last couple of hours enjoying it. When I am not lurking around here I spend a fair amount of time on the Care2 network and belong to several art based groups, (i am only a lover not a practitioner). With your permission I would love to add your link to those pages so that more people can enjoy your talent. I will not do so however until I have heard back from you. thanks, man for the journey.............tim |

I dont know if that is the correct term or not. The general term is Computer Graphics, or CG. Thank you all for looking!! Lance |
||||||
Title: Re: My personal web page Post by Melissa on Mar 21st, 2006, 2:27pm Oh, ok, then digitography must be digital photography. :-/ CGI (computer graphic interface?) photography I think is what it's called, but I could be wrong. Either way, it's lovely! :) |

Title: Re: My personal web page Post by Dragnlance on Mar 21st, 2006, 2:37pm In my case, the art could be called Photorealistic, meaning that these are not real places, but look real. My mind is the only place it exists... you didnt know you were looking at the landscape of my mind did you??? [smiley=laugh.gif] |

Title: Re: My personal web page Post by Melissa on Mar 21st, 2006, 2:59pm Oh, 2 more I really like, and they are my favorites, are "Sentinels" and "shrine_to _the_elements_water" :) |
||||||
Title: Re: My personal web page Post by Dragnlance on Mar 21st, 2006, 3:01pm Sentinels is one of my new ones. That one was fun. You would not Believe what a PAIN mushrooms are to create tho. The shrine series gets lots of comments. I ran out of ideas for them however so have not done any more in some time. Got any ideas? |

Well, some might say it's been overdone, but if you could come up with a new twist on them, I'd have to suggest Ancient Egypt. ;) (yes, I'm being a little selfish, lol) |

Title: Re: My personal web page Post by Charlotte on Mar 21st, 2006, 3:31pm Are you an Anne McAffrey fan? Have you done book covers? My favorites were love's bitter landscape of pain and strange object 1. Very nice. |

You picked out the hardest one I have worked on. That took months to create and get right. The strange objects are some of my earliest works, and still get lots of comments. I did them mostly to experiment with reflections. |

Title: Re: My personal web page Post by LeLimey on Mar 22nd, 2006, 11:08am These were my favourites.. and believe me this is a very pared down list! Peaceful Pond Evening Berth Evening Lighthouse Glacial Lakes Lavender Lagoon Morning Seagulls Moonlit Pond Morning Glory Resting in Peace Undersea Christophers Ridge I would love to have any (or all!) of them on the walls in my house. I could easily get lost looking into those pictures and imagining what's just beyond the frame... Lance with Christophers Ridge you excelled yourself. The way you had the sunlight shining through those leaves making them almost translucent made me squint as though I was there, I was waiting to hear that bird call. A very poignant picture and I'm sure thats right where Christopher is waiting too.. Thank you for sharing your work, I've loved every minute and will be looking forward to seeing more. Helen |

Title: Re: My personal web page Post by pfunk on Mar 22nd, 2006, 1:38pm Lance, That stuff is awesome! I wish I had what it took to do that kind of work. I could tell you just about everything ther is to know about the history of baseball and I could design a playbook or lineup for a football team or baseball team, but that is really incredible. I particularly liked the stuff you did with lighthouses. I have always found lighthouses somewhat relaxing and entrancing. Thanks alot for sharing these with us! Pfunk |

Title: Re: My personal web page Post by Dragnlance on Mar 23rd, 2006, 9:40am Thank you so much for the glowing reviews! Helen, Thank you for the comments on Christopher's Ridge. I spent months working to get that one just right. I was in a bad mood when I created resting in peace, but was grinning when I completed it. Paul, I only try to quote because it keeps reponses easy to follow. I will try to tone that down. Pam, and Charlie, I offer these on the web for free, for people to enjoy. You putting them on your computer as wall paper is the one of the best compliments you can give me. Thank you. Phil, Pfunk, Thank you!! |

Paul's only giving you a hard time, Lance. In order to quote and show by whom/and when it was posted, you should hit the quote button on the top tight of the post. It will appear in a reply box, where you can edit out the parts you don't want to use. Some people have been here for years and still can't do it. ::) |
