 Tomorrow My niece,sisters and I are meeting President Bush!! My nephew in-law was KIA  a year ago this Febuary in Iraq .Christine got a call from the White House today telling her she can have a one on one meeting.SHe put me down on her list of guests.What the hell do you wear to meet the President.Please no political jokes or comments I just think this is cool.Minnie who is looking for her one damn pair of dress pants and panicking!!!

Doesn't matter who is filling the seat, meeting a President of the United States is an honor and a priviledge not many get.

This is a great honor - looking forward to being able to see a pic if you can get one!

Nothing can ever make losing your nephew-in-law any easier, but it will be a nice way to honor his memory!

My deepest sympathy for the lost. I'm sure you will find the "President" to be a human being. He puts his pants on just like the rest of us. What you wear is no concern.  OK deep breathing we are leaving in a hour.found my dress pants and a ok shirt hair and make-up as good as it get on this ugly mug.Aprils making fun of my primping saying your not gonna KISS him are you>YUCK!! I do have my standards .so wish me luck and if everything turns out alright I will have a pic of me and the prez.I'm not Forrest Gump ya know so this is my one and only with the prez.

Either way, here's to you having a great time.  My in-laws are very conservative but still have a picture of them all meeting Bill Clinton (when he was Governor of Arkansas) framed in the study.

Meeting a President is a great honor.  I hope you had an awesome time.

 OH MY Gawd I met the president!!!He was in Rochester NY and you cannot believe how big air force one is.No didn't go on it but was awesome.Five families of fallen heroes each one went into a private room and had one on one time with the President .The secret service was out in the hall.He was very down to earth asked many questions about Christopher and the rest of us .There was seven of us I can kick myself for not taking the girls.I asked him how he felt september 11th shaped his presidency.How close are we to catching Bin Laden and the last thing I said to him was please do everything you can to keep jobs in the U.S.He answered everyones questions and quite impressed that Christopher was Delta force.More later got to get kids to bed.I will post a few pics later.The white house will be sending the other ones.What a day and he was a very sincere down to earth man.it was amasing the different topics the families said we took up with MR.Bush

That's wonderful!!!  Sounds like it was an amazing experience - definitely a once in a lifetime type thing!!

Once again, I'm sorry it was for the circumstances of losing your nephew, but Christopher did a brave thing standing up for our country in the armed forces.  For that, we're ever grateful.

Can't wait to see the pics!!!

Wow the opportunity of a life time... I wouldnt know where to begin.... I hope I never have to meet a president under those circumstances.... kisses to the mom of that brave man.... Love to you too Minnie... and thanks for sharing this....

A pic or two would be nice. You'll probably be taller than Bush. Looks short to me. I'd like to see the oval office.

When we visited Washington in the 50s everybody got a tour, albeit only to the touristy rooms. Fat chance now. Tour guides kept telling us that Ike could show up any time. Would have been nice. That's a great honor. I wish for you had come under different circumstances. Our next door neighbor lost his life at the WTC and his wife and kids met with him as well and that is pretty much exactly what she said about him.

Very warm, down to earth and pretty much a regular guy.

What a great experience. A once in a lifetime experience.

That is one thing I would like to do meet a President of the United States.

Yoiu deserve the honor.

Nick Thou's is alive and doing well.  They opened a second place about 5 years ago-all brand new and in a " nice"  neighborhood but the garbage plate is still the garbage plate!  The old joint continues to go on-amazing the different types of people you see there eating next to each other!

Back when I was in Rochester, Nicks was open 24 hours and at 3 am the place was insanely busy and crazy.  Thanks for the update.  If I ever do get back, I'll have to go to the new one.

 The wierd thing is that to go to any local courthouse and social services office you go through a metal detecter.WE didn't that I saw and didn't have to show I.D..I didn't take my purse but others did and they weren't checked.But unless you were on the list you didn't get near the place.they had roads blocked left and right.tons of secret service and sharpshooters.between the buildings it was so cold,windy and snowy we wanted a ride but he walked in front of the limo and man it was cold.The first cop we stopped to try to get to the airport was a jerk.You should have seen his facewhen we said we had a planned meeting with the President.He's like yeah righttt,Chris explained we were invited and he wanted to see the invitation.Duh the whitehouse didn't send invites we didn't even get invited until monday late afternoon.He wouldn't let us pull over and call the contacts.we wanted to go back and show him the pics. and tell him he's doesn't have to be so ignorant.I will be talking about this forever he was so down to earth thats what everyone kept saying.you felt like you made a friend.

He looked like a genuinly nice guy and a warm guy.

I understand the heartbreak I think. The opportunity to meet a President is just awesome.

  i'm 5'2' so i'd put the president about 5'10   to 5'11

I'll say one thing for him; his still photos here are much more flattering to him. He's one of those people evidently, and there are many, that don't come off as well on television.
