Title: Mother Nature rained down last night... Post by blossom on Mar 13th, 2006, 8:44pm We spent about 6 hours under tornado watches and warnings last night from 10pm until 4am. It was a long night and we barely dodged a bullet. Major destruction here and a lot of prayers needed. We live in Nixa which is a town of about 12000 people. The photo on the front page is about 2 miles from our home. http://www.news-leader.com/apps/pbcs.dll/frontpage Love to all- Karen |

Title: Re: Mother Nature rained down last night... Post by purpleydog on Mar 13th, 2006, 9:47pm I slept right through it all, wind, rain, thunder and lightning, and tonado warnings. Didn't get much wind damage here in Peoria, but got quite a bit of rain. Glad you are ok! |

Title: Re: Mother Nature rained down last night... Post by blossom on Mar 13th, 2006, 9:51pm It was wild to be sure! We ended up sleeping in the living room on the loveseat and couch. Everyone at work was dragging a$$ today... exhausted from all the tornado sirens and warnings. It's that time of year in Tornado Alley. Thank God for home owners insurance! Matt, you and Mary and the kids ok? I thought Chris was going to have a heart attack - the tornado kicked up 1 town over from his hometown (Aurora, MO) where all his family still lives, including our daughter, Lexi, with her mom. Colin was out in Oklahoma with his paternal grandparents but they are all fine. |

Title: Re: Mother Nature rained down last night... Post by kimmiedawn81 on Mar 13th, 2006, 10:22pm Yeah, I woke up around 3:30 or so to lightning, rain and tornado sirens going off. Luckily we didn't have any tornadoes, but a lot to the west and east of me. A lot of damage in Missouri. |

Title: Re: Mother Nature rained down last night... Post by cootie on Mar 13th, 2006, 10:47pm Isn't this an early start to tornado season ? Just wonder'd......seems there is so much hot/cold clashes now days with the fickle weather changes they are alot worse. We got spared most of it today.....no sirens or early warnings here out in the boonies.....just the local stations or weather channel and the satillite goes out if it gets too rainy......'alot' of good that does Pam Hope everyone is ok and stays that way all thru the season !!!!!! |
