but only for ten days..... ;D

On April 13th he will be loaded into a van with a bunch of other kids, to start a journey to Port of Spain, Trinidad !

Their youth group is heading there, along with Samaritan's Purse, to build a church and help out at an eyeglass clinic.

Got the passport, booked the shots, raised about 1/2 the money, and will be booking him some tanning time so he doesn't fry.....

He's never travelled much, so this will be a huge adventure for him. And it's warm there......mmmmm 8)

That will be a good experience for him. I bet he is excited. And it's only for 10 days, that's nothin'. You'll be fine, and it's for a good cause.

Wow! He just missed Carnaval down there. The celebrations in Trinidad & Tobago are bigger than in Rio de Janeiro, but not many foreigners know about it....

Danielle,
Trinidad is a beautiful country. Tell him to make sure and try a shark and bake, Roti and Doubles.
Port of Spain is a city with lots of problems. Advise him to be very, very careful. No wondering around alone, no rides with strangers, even if they look OK.

When they told us the destination, I googled it and found that out....didn't tell anyone.....so he'll not realize what they missed. ::) :-X

Bunch of church kids wandering around at carnaval.....not unless I get to go too !!!!

Yeah.... he's only 15, so he has to come home till he's ready to take on the whole world. I'm not done with him yet...he still has to learn to cook before he can leave for good. ;) (the 12 year old is coming along nicely....)

I think it's even more cool that you can be happy for him, LOL. I'm too overprotective to enjoy those kinds of milestones. :-/
