Baa-Baa Rainbow Sheep, Suspect Descriptions
Sunday, March 12, 2006
By Scott Norvell

The London's Times reports that a school in the UK changed the words of the old Black Sheep nursery rhyme to "baa baa rainbow sheep" as part of an effort to improve equal opportunities for its students.

Stuart Chamberlain, manager of the Family Centre nursery, said such changes are "fairly standard" across nurseries in the area.

"We are following stringent equal opportunities rules. No one should feel pointed out because of their race, gender or anything else," he said.

Teachers at the nurseries also have changed the ending of Humpty Dumpty so as not to upset the children, and dropped the seven dwarfs from the title of Snow White.

Yep Tim it is still policy and practice to knock some heads if some one calls us a Jar-head. We still beat up sailors unless we can team up on the Army or Fly-boys. Sort of like here.. We give each other heck but don't let an outsider pick on anyone of us.
By the way hope your head feels better soon.  I am sending my thoughts to you so you can get better!

I can't stand it. http://www.netsync.net/users/charlies/gifs/die laughing.gif

I want to draw and quarter the morons that come up with this and all the racket with God stuff too. What a waste of energy, time and money. I have to be careful here....they are definitely mentally challegned. http://www.netsync.net/users/charlies/gifs/hang whip.gif

Bananas really.

The English language has taken a terrible beating as well.

"Gyrenes"
The term "gyrene" is a jocular reference to Marines which was first used in England as early as 1894. It was used in the United States around the time of World War I. Its exact origin is unknown, but it did appear to have a derogatory meaning in its early usage. It has been suggested that the term may embody a reference to pollywog, a naval slang term for a person who has not yet "crossed" [the equator], hence, a landlubber.

"Jarhead"
A slang term used by sailors as early as World War II to refer to members of the Marine Corps, drawing the term from the resemblance of the Marine dress blues uniform, with its high collar, to a Mason jar.

I don't have to worry about "PC"
I ain't political (not that you would notice)
I damn sure ain't "correct"

And don't care!

Do the "Jarheads" still call the navy "Squids" ;;D
Used to be a damn good way to start a fight!

Guess my dad was WAY ahead of his time back in the 70s. When CBs were all the rage, he refused to be called the "Dirty Old Man" and insisted on being called the "Sexy Senior Sitizen" (oh hell, he used Triple S).

I just can't keep up with the latest PC so I quit trying....

possibly a combination of GI+,Marine

And oh, I don't mind being called a squid, but it sure pissed off the Gyrenes when us squid would call them Jarheads.  Of course they were outnumbered 4800 to 250 on that Carrier.

E2,
Your wife would probably have a better chance anyway if the bride to be is a lesbian [smiley=laugh.gif]
