Title: Re: Need your help! (definately NOT CH) Post by FramCire on Mar 7th, 2006, 11:12am We have that same chair we bought at Silver Dollar City (Branson, Missouri)3 years ago. I don't know how much my wife paid for it but I am guessing it was in the $40 range. I wish I could sell it, as my son never uses it, but my wife (and I) love it. |

(definately NOT CH) Post by Melissa on Mar 7th, 2006, 12:23pm Ok, since I'm having problems accessing the website (?), tell me what you think of this one? http://www.babyuniverse.com/pro.asp?rc=qIpwRA3ARhmkAlKu1Lko&siteid=0038973140&catid=51&id=25238 http://mii.babyuniverse.com/product_images/pic/309/l309-25238.jpg This is what I was looking for in the 1st place (before I came across the wooden one), because it looks like a real toilet, just smaller. ;) |

Title: Re: Need your help! (definately NOT CH) Post by Ghost on Mar 7th, 2006, 12:47pm Most of the time for boys give them fresh air and a back yard to run in and nature kicks in. ;;D [smiley=laugh.gif] |

Title: Re: Need your help! (definately NOT CH) Post by cootie on Mar 7th, 2006, 12:49pm Well as stubborn as sum kids can be potty training I think maybe that second one would be best cuz it looks more like the REAL thing. Wouldn't want a stubborn kid thinkin all wooden chairs were shitters esp when at a freinds house or at a party. Opps I crapped in someones chair Pam 8) Wood harbors more bacteria anyhow........trust me I know.......(esp with this dog business and all the info on materials) Wood BAD !!! |

ROTFLMAO! Thanks Pam, that's good feedback. ;;D I was thinking so too. Eli is extremely particular about things looking the way they're supposed to. He has another potty, but it's only 8" off the ground with nothing but a lid. Hard for a kid with one small butt and long legs. Plus he gets very scared when he's on the big toliet due him not having anything to hang onto (not to mention his little butt easily slipping into the bowl, lol). I showed him a pic of the potty, and he seemed very interested in it. :) |

Title: Re: Need your help! (definately NOT CH) Post by vietvet2tours on Mar 7th, 2006, 1:07pm Six. It's not like i'm a rookie at this .I would buy the wooden one strictly for doll appeal or plants or use the pot for ice for your lambrusco. Potter |

Well, that doesn't make you an expert, geez! :P [smiley=laugh.gif] Hey, if it ends up not being used, I can always sell it. That's the wonderful thing about being an eBay enthusiast! ;) edited to respond to your edit (lmao), I know what you mean. It IS cute, ain't it? ;) But Pam does have a point about the bactieria thing. Oh cripes, I hate this!! :-/ I wish I could wake up and it'd be all over! |

Title: Re: Need your help! (definately NOT CH) Post by E-Double on Mar 7th, 2006, 4:19pm In the end it will be easier for him and you (as well as cheaper) to just get a step stool and a potty seat. Unless you plan on training a child in an environment other than the bathroom, I always prefer to use the actual toilet. E |

What? A planetarium is not a suitable environment? Whatever are you talking about? ;;D (yeah, yeah, I know, as I have an 11 year old daughter, but girls are easier to train than boys, and hubby isn't hope enough to help out. :( SO, like I said, if it don't work out, I'll sell it. Geez, I feel like an inept mother now!) |

Do not feel inept. Toilet training does not have to do with what type of seat an individual uses. It has do do with making a discrimination between when to go and where to go and also learning that being soiled is niether socially appropriate nor pleasant to the individual. Some people will actually place a potty in the living room or any other environment which the child is going to be in for the majority of their time. The ultimate procedure is still "Toilet Training In A Day" I modify techniques but have had succes toilet training 50 someodd individuals ranging from 18 months up to 47 yrs. Look it up! Title: Re: Need your help! (definately NOT CH) Post by Melissa on Mar 7th, 2006, 5:09pm "Toliet Training in a Day"...is that a book? Dammit Eric, where were you 5 hours ago before I bought the damn thing??? >:( ;) |

It is actually a book. It was written in the '70's and is still the best around. Foxx & Azrin are behavioral psychologists who developed training procedures for individuals with developmental disabilities that were extremely effective. They then modified the procedures for typically developing individuals and it was marketed to parents. It is still brilliant! A must have! Eric ( who was working all day. Including the toilet training a 2 yr. old. We started 2 days ago and he has gone from being wet every half hour to staying dry AND initiating " I need Potty!") |
