Title: anyone with info on this doc?
Post by tessa_c2 on Mar 6th, 2006, 5:16pm
ive only been with my new neuro for 6 months.  hes the one that finally said ch, and started me on verapamil.  but after 2 visits and numerous calls to the office, ivve decided that i dont really like the way the nurses deal with me.  i know that this may not have any bearings on the the doc or th treatment. but these are the people that  i have to talk to get to him.  they just seem really unwilling to help me, or dont understand what im going through.

i saw on the ouch site the name of a neuro in greenville sc.  dr sam zimmerman.  hes a hour and a half  away from me but worth the ride if hes good.

has anyone heard of him? or anyone in sc that has seen him?

Tess:  I do not know this Dr. but I can give you the name of an attorney in Greenville who does workers' compensation.  Alan knows every doc in town.  His name is Alan Cochran but I can't remember his number.  He was the President of a legal association I used to work for and he is great.  Actually, getting to him may be tough, but you could start with Sue in his office.  She probably knows as much or more than Alan does.

Good luck
Louise

Hi Tessa, I am in the position of needing to find a new neuro as my great one in MD. is retiring. I now live in between Spartanburg and Greenville so I will make an appointment with him and tell what my impression is. I just looked at the ouch link above and while I know that there are "different strokes for different folks', i notice a couple names up there that i have been to in other states that are absolute quacks. so many of these so called headache specialists want to lump everything into migraine, stress, or psychological that they never even really listen to you.

If you go to see this doc before me please go well armed with info from this and the OUCH site (print it), that alone can help you more then you would believe. It was by doing this that I helped turn my soon to be retired doc from a good neuro to a great one. He actually monitored the sites and went the extra mile to speak to other pros just on my behalf. let me know how it works out unless i beat ya to him.
