Happy people live longer, healthier lives than grumpy folks, according to researchers who reviewed the records of people who completed a personality test in the early 1960s.  Three decades later, they found pessimists, as compared with optimists, had an increased risk for death.  The more pessimistic the personality, the greater the risk.  In a follow-up study, optimistic people had better health in all areas.
