It's on the lower right sleeve of a WWII 82nd/101st Airborne officer's uniform that my friend found. He may have jumped into sticky territory in Europe. It looks European to us. it looks like some sort of patch sewn into an old army jacket er sumthin.
probably from around WW2, but thats just my guess

I don't know how to thank you. My friend Bill and I went all over sites looking for the thing. He's a serious collector of this stuff. I'm surprised he didn't know it. Well, my grandpa was a Paratrooper with the 8th (I think) Airborne, but I don't remember seeing a patch like that on his uniform. It almost looks like maybe special forces within the division?
