Title: May I make a suggestion?
Post by JenniferD on Mar 4th, 2006, 8:56am
After ALMOST getting sucked into reading a 10 pg pissing match, I noticed a couple things:

the original question DID get some good responses, although nearly buried in b.s.

I saw at least one newbie post in that thread regarding the original issue, and noone even responded, just kept pissin (at/on?) each other.

Just my opinion here:  while responding to a legitimate question, should a side-issue, say, someone thinking someone else is a low-life, scum-sucking dirtbag parasite, why not take it to chat and hash it out there, and leave the thread for real answers to the original question?

That way, those that want to ignore those that disgust them can ignore and also try to help others, and those that want to rip the above mentioned low-life, scum-sucking, dirtbag parasites an new a$$hole can continue with reckless abandon and the newbies won't go running in fear.

I'm not accusing anyone of anything here or pointing fingers or whatever. I agree its the differences of opinion on a subject that make us the family we are, but the in-fighting should be taken "outside", so a good thread with real answers shouldn't have to be trashed.

Hiding behind the big couch in the corner now,
Jen

Amen, Jen....I agree, in theory.  Those of us who are testosterone-challenged stand by in awe as the page numbers add up.  I admit that I have jumped in a few times, but when this starts to happen, I just stay away.  Your idea is a good one, but do those high-testosterone types know how to type fast enough to handle chat? ;;D  At least it would keep them occupied for a while. Amen Jen.... Agree totally. A simple question - some good answers - no pissing match needed.

And what does it solve - not a damn thing.... When this stuff starts I just use pms for the question at hand and forget the other stuff. It's just silly to contribute to that stuff.....

Hugs BD

First of all, I agree.
Second of all, for those of us who dont really know netiquette and stuff like that, it seems weird.
I thought that when someone asks  "You wanna take this to PMs?"  that was like asking  "You wanna take this outside?".......as if the real fight is still coming.

And when someone says "take it to PMs", that seems like " take this outside" (for a fight)

So, i'm guessing I've been wrong this whole time?   :-/
Damnit!

LMAO! It only took 12 responses to go from a message about pissin' matches to testosterone to stubby toes to pinpoints to capital letters.

Why don't we just begin a new thread where all the dissing matches take place...? Personally I don't see the point in those in the first place, though. You raised a good point, Jen, so no need to hide. I hope that we can solve this. PMs would be one way; then the fights would end soon and the rest would enjoy messages without bashing.

Sanna,
always the optimist

I'm relaxed... 8)
But thank you for worrying about me... ;)
Personally I can happily ignore bashing, so it doesn't bother me that much.
