Title: One active senior citizen Post by sandie99 on Mar 4th, 2006, 3:52am Hi guys. Some of you might recall that I was worried about my mum before her retirement (last February). As it turns out, she has been enjoying it to the fullest. :) But, as I suspected, she is one busy woman as always. She was a workaholic, so it's not a huge surprise. Now she's the Vice President of one retirement society, active member at her local branch of Finnish Red Cross and, this is my fave, the chairwoman of the annual meething of Finnish American Society! :) We've been members of that society for years. :) Go mum! I just hope that she won't work too much now... ;) Best wishes to all, Sanna |

Keep going mum, then you and Sanna can shack up in the same retirement home some day! [smiley=crackup.gif] |

Title: Re: One active senior citizen Post by BobG on Mar 4th, 2006, 7:36pm Years ago at the 80th birthday party for my aunt (my mother's older sister) I asked her if she ever thought of slowing down and getting a place in one of those retirement communities like Sun City. Her reply "Hell no. I don't want to live near all those old people!" She died 3 years ago at age 93. |

I will! :) I think it'll take a long, long time before mum will need a retirement home. If ever. Her siblings are all happy, pretty healthy and active. The oldest of them turned 72 this year. :) Sanna |
