Title: Diet and Heart Attacks Post by mynm156 on Mar 2nd, 2006, 7:49pm a recent study for those of us who watch what we eat, here's the final word on nutrition and health. It's a relief to know the truth after all the conflicting medical studies: 1. The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans. 2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans. 3. The Chinese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans. 4. The Italians drink excessive amounts of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans. 5. The Germans drink a lot of beer and eat lots of sausage and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans. CONCLUSION: Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you |

I don't think English is the problem - the Australians beat the Mexicans and are close to the Japanese and French. Problem must be being American. ;) Here's a link to international rates: http://www.americanheart.org/downloadable/heart/10148328094661013190990123HS_State_02.pdf do a search within the pdf for 'russian' - it brings you to an intersting chart. |

Title: Re: Diet and Heart Attacks Post by Opus on Mar 3rd, 2006, 7:46pm Researchers are close (http://www.altcorp.com/AffinityLaboratory/coronarydisease.htm) to discovering the cause of heart disease. The fact that cholesterol levels and diet do not cause plaque in coronary arteries is being suppressed. Of course a cure would cause many heart and cholesterol reducing drugs, surgeries, and equipment now used to treat it , obsolete. Opus/Paul |
