Title: Twins update Post by fubar on Mar 2nd, 2006, 2:07am So now we know for sure, it's two BOYS. Holy crap... God hates me. Do they sell term destruction insurance? One boy has almost bankrupted me, but two? Twins? I'm sunk. But that's only the good news. The bad news is Jennifer is now confined to bed rest for the rest of her pregnancy. She's only at 18 weeks, so we have (hopefully) about 18-20 weeks of her in bed with no activity whatsoever. She is allowed to go to the bathroom and a shower occasionally. This is not 'good time' as it is known. It's stressful worrying time, because the babies (being the wonderful hell-raising snots they are destined to be) are trying to exit the womb much sooner than is actually feasible. The cervix is softening and funnel shaped on the interior, so now we play the 'don't taunt the cervix' game for 4.5 months. Yay. Anyway. Vibe's, prayers, burnt offerings... y'all know the drill by now. Bring it. Pretty please. -Shawn |

Title: Re: Twins update Post by LeLimey on Mar 2nd, 2006, 5:53am Shawn, 18 weeks is good going, each week they are getting stronger and stronger and every day is a bonus. Jennifer will be fine, you will be broke, grey and a nervous wreck but that's YOUR problem! ;) Have they spoken to you about putting a band around the cervix? It's quite common with twin pregnancies and it can be a reassurance. Every vibe I have is on its way and please check your pm's lots of love Helen xxxx |

Title: Re: Twins update Post by Karla on Mar 2nd, 2006, 8:41am I have identical twin boys. The hardest ages are the 2's and the teenage years. I was put on bedrest from my 16th week on. My mother came to stay with us to do all the housekeeping, grocery shopping, etc since I couldn't and my husband couldn't because he was in the marine corps gone out in the dessert. Thank God for Mom's! We had to 'play the 'don't taunt the cervix' game to or i would go into labor. No fun. I did manage to carry mine full term. You are all in our prayers. |
