Anyone else caught on to the rage of this very addicting puzzle game? It seems everywhere I look, people are playing this! The other night, my friend had a "Sudoku for Dummies" book at work, and I bought one the next morning to pass the time while I was waiting for appts.

Went to my family doc on Friday, and the PA student said to my doctor, "Oh look she's doing them too." He said, "Oh cool! Those puzzles have become my only life outside of work!"

Today, I went to PT, and I had my book out while I had heat on my back for 10 minutes. My PT came over and said, "You're doing these too?? So's he over there!" He went over and told his other patient, who walked over and asked me all about the puzzles - he told me that once you get past the easy level, the intermediate level takes on a completely different game. I told him I'd never done any past the easy level. He then went to the main desk and was swapping Sudoku secrets with one of the PTs over at the desk.

Then I get on the train on the way home and have my puzzle book out again. This guy sits down next to me and is going through some of the papers in his briefcase. About 10 minutes into the ride, he pulls out HIS Sudoku book too!!!

Here's a website for the puzzles online...I'm sure there are lots more websites with them, but I like this one because the puzzles are not too difficult at the mild level. I'm learning my skills!!

Object is to have 1 - 9 going across each row (in any order) and down each column (also in any order). You can't repeat any number between 1-9 in any given row. Also, you have to look at the sectioned off boxes of 9 - they each have to have 1-9 without repeating, too!

No math involved - just logic - very, very addicting logic!! Anyone else playing?

My mom does them, I guess crossworders are especially at risk for contracting sudoku. My blood pressure is already high enough, I think I'll skip it. But it is neat to watch this spread and be used for socializing. Who's got the the best Sudoku pick-up line?

LOL Well I really suck at crosswords...so I could never get into them. I get frustrated and end up answering maybe 2 or 3, probably incorrectly, and then give up.

I've always loved logic based games. This one truly is a blast!! I taught my mom tonight, and she just IM'd me a few minutes ago and asked me if she could leave the Sudoku game up on her computer screen all night "on pause" because she wanted to go to bed. hahaha

I know my best friend and I had a MAJOR addiction to solitaire when we were in junior high/high school, and it seems that most of the folks at work love playing that, as well. This one is even more fun though because it has an answer - just have to find it! I can't get through the puzzles very quickly, and certainly not as fast as they're saying the average times are on the website I posted, but it's fun anyways!! :)

I have a subscription to Club Pogo, and right now am addicted to a game called Qwerty. Basically, it's a game that's a combination of crossword and scrabble.

I just can't get enough of it!!

Sudoku is awesome. However, I haven't found puzzles hard enough yet. I am not all that intelligent but logic puzzles are my thing.

I see Sudoku books and magazines everywhere. They have just appreared all around lately. I haven't played, though. I've just got the hang of how to solve crosswords; I've never been that keen on them.

But mum loves crosswords and I've been planning to buy her a sudoku magazine when I see her, so she can solve them, too.

Sudoku for dummies... ;;D Good one. They make those books about everything, don't they?

This is and addiction I can use. ;;D

I do mine in PEN and rarely make a mistake. I can count on one hand the number of puzzles I have gotten wrong. OK, I'm bragging. I do the simple to most complex. Bragging, again. But, the most complex do take me hours where as the simple take about 10 minutes.

Try your local paper. The Washington Post starts each week w/ an easy puzzle and they progress to insane by Friday.

I do'em. Wait till you start trying the "diabolical" level ones - they are like having the tartar picked from your teeth. I'm counting on stuff like this to keep my neurons free of "gunk".

You and me! I love logic puzzles. I can't find the darned books in my local stores. Guess I'm gonna have to subscribe, if I could find a darned logic puzzle book in my local store so I can find out where I can subscribe to :-/
