Title: Got a back bone & said NOOOO!!! Post by doodles on Feb 27th, 2006, 8:14pm Just dang it all to hell!!! >:( >:( my lovely sister in law strikes again. She and my brother went to my parents house to pick up their car... and she was all set to empty out the fridge and take everything home! She did call me first and ask what I planned to do with it all...cause after all they are broke right now. I paid for all the funeral expenses and still have to pay rent as well... Guess she thinks I am rolling in money...acckkkkk steam rolling from my ears!!! >:( >:( Told her nooooo Don't empty the frig... and yes I had planned to do something with it. My parents passed away with a fairly complete food inventory...would have been one thing if she had asked to share it!! |

Title: Re: Got a back bone & said NOOOO!!! Post by Melissa on Feb 27th, 2006, 9:44pm [smiley=thumb.gif] Good for you!! Worst thing to do is to let anyone walk over you due to your being vulnerable right now. As for the cats... hmmm, I wonder how much it'd be to ship them to Switzerland to Ueli's house? ;) |

Get your sister in law to do it! LOL It would be worth the car for THAT precious memory but then again, I'm just plain horrible! good for you for sticking up for yourself, some people see life as an inventory and they are to be pitied, she's one who'll always know the price of everything but the value of nothing. lots and lots of love Helen xxx |

Title: Re: Got a back bone & said NOOOO!!! Post by doodles on Feb 28th, 2006, 9:26am Boy did you hit the nail on the head Helen! Can you imagine sitting down to a dinner at her house and having her tell you that she bought the steak on sale at Albertson's, the potatos at Winn Dixie and the wine at Walgreens...etc.?? >:( >:( Christmas is even more fun. We could never have a family gathering without hearing either how bad her health was or how much money she saved. I must remember my karma....my Mom & I would start complaining about her and my Dad would always say swooosh.. Karma toilet flushing again! I can see him saying it right now! ;;D |

That's brilliant. I'm gonna use that... ;;D BTW, I have aunt and uncle, who are just like your sister-in-law. They are terrible! But I believe that they will get what's coming to them (and there have been signs already), so I don't stress about them. Sanna |
