Title: Think I need some Cluster Boosting.... Post by nancyc on Feb 27th, 2006, 4:39pm After ten years of working for the state of S.C. as an R.N. , I am leaving them. I will be leaving the State retirement and starting a new retirement program at my new job....this is scary for this Gramma.... I will be going to work for one of the hospitals here in Surgical Oncology. It will be a totally new experience for me. I have worked in the Addiction field,(mental health) and a skilled care unit for the elderly for the last ten years so this is a big big step. I am scared to death. But now I will only work saturdays and sundays 12 hour shifts....that will give me the entire week to devote to my grandson. He may be moving back here with me fulltime in Sept. to go to prekindergarten. But right now, he is with me 2 weeks out of the month. The other two, he lives with his mom in Atlanta. ALso, i think calming my life down some will help keep the beast at bay more....I sure could use some Cluster boosting as I am alittle unsure of myself rite now...and you guys and gals have a way of supporting! :D And please keep me and my family in your prayers as I do all of you daily...I may not always post due to my crazy schedule but I am always close by and only a phone call or email away if you ever need my help... smiles,nancyc |

Post by tanner on Feb 27th, 2006, 4:58pm nancy, i am positive you are doing the thing for the right reasons! big changes are always hard and always frightening until you have made so many of them they no longer seem big. Linda and I have made life / carreer changes so many times and for so many reasons that it would be easy for me to look at the simple financial results and go into a (what if ) tail spin that i couldn't get out of. All i know for sure is that we have always followed our hearts and somehow someone be it a family member ,friend ,or total stranger has greatly appreciated our impetuosity. i am sure the same will happen to you. and as for the beast Screw him!! we will always have free will !!! and i am hitting 9s rite now........ don't give in .....don't give up........ do what your heart and soul says is right and every thing else will be fine....................tim |

Close a door - open a window.... as my ole grandmaw used to say... But don't think this retirement stuff is as easy as you think... A four year old is NOT retirement -- trust me on this one!!!! Take lots of vitamin pills, drink lots of energy drinks and don't worry about exercise - you'll get all that you need. If you don't sleep at night - somethins' wrong... And if that don't work - adopt Toby a new brother.... A BIG one.. :) That will damn sure wear you out.... Seriously sis -- I think you're doing the right thing - will call you soon.... Hugs BD |

Post by nancyc on Feb 28th, 2006, 1:30am LMAO...Seems like I was so nervous about this new job, I messed my post up.....I AM NOT retiring ..just changing jobs. Had to go back and change my first post as it did sound like I was retiring ;;D... On my new job, I will only be scheduled 24 hours a week, get paid for 36.... knowing me, I will work more than that...but nothing like i am working now as I am working about 50 to 60 hours a week....so it will probably feel like I am retiring. Anyway, thanks for the Boosting. I am scared to death..I HATE change...you would think us clusterheads would not be afraid of anything after dealing with the beast....Anyway, thanks for the encouragement.
