Title: Oh ohhhhhhh Post by cootie on Feb 23rd, 2006, 7:23pm Dam it........dam it all to hell !!! Our internalist doctor we like so well we've been goin to the past 3 or 4 years sent a letter he is QUITTING cuz of the high cost of malpractice insurence and other expense issues and hassles. We have no doctor now ! He mentions a few new docs in town that are takeing new patients but he doesn't know them.....and I seriously doubt they are goin to take new patients and continue with meds as the old doc did. And me with chronic pain issues in my back gettin worse there not gonna continue with my meds not knowing me from adam.....so I am fucked. Are pain clinics expensive ? Got to find someone that can treat ch for Brad too......dam !!! No neuro's or pain clinics in this town anyhow. Brad's shop put all the guys on 32 hours a week 4 days a week and we don't know how long they can keep up with insurence cuz of the high costs of it goin up. Freaked Pam YUP......I'm whine'n............. |

Title: Re: Oh ohhhhhhh Post by Linda_Howell on Feb 23rd, 2006, 7:30pm Pam, First calm down....breathe girl. The Dr. who knows both of you and what you need in the way of treatment, meds etc.........should be able to tranfer your records to any new Dr. in your area....and IF he is a good guy might put in a good word as far as exactly what you and Brad need. Don't sit on the side-lines waiting for this to come down....be pro-active hon. Linda |

Title: Re: Oh ohhhhhhh Post by tanner on Feb 23rd, 2006, 9:33pm pam, i am so sorry to haer your news. i am currently going thru the same changes my internist (hepc) doc is in md. as is my neuro who is one of the good guy's. i will continue to rtavel when i can afford to and the pain allows but the neuro is retiring in dec. and has no one to refer me to down here in sc. you live in one of the few areas that we have not chased doctors. the nearest to you that i have any experiance with would be Dr. joel saper in grand rapids mi. some people like him, i felt like a guinea pig when i was in his clinic but he is supposedly an expert in his field. that won't help you any with the internist problem. i will start by calling my guy in md. and seeing if he knows of anyone good. in the meantime you hang in there..... only the best for ya tim and while i'm here hi lee/ bye lee nuf said |

Title: Re: Oh ohhhhhhh Post by cootie on Feb 23rd, 2006, 11:20pm Thanks for showin your smart side Lee.............anyhow.......this is the third doc we had QUIT on us and they were all GOOD docs we really liked alot.....one retired early to care for his wife without any notice......other one after several years decided to move out of state to take a job there in the same field. And this guy we have now we met at my second docs meet and greet he scheduled to meet two new docs that would take his patients. So that made it a bit easier even tho we had to convince the new doc of meds we were on and of course he wanted to know WHY he should prescribe them and acted like ya was up to sumthin. NOT !!! This doc just had to call it quits cuz of insurence and all that goes with it.....how sad is that !? But one thing we found out is new docs don't generally like to follow the old docs plan.....they usually say NO and ya sit there lookin like a druggie. Startin over is gonna suck.....I felt so confident with this guy and Brad did too. Pain management out the window Pam Thanks for all the nice comments guys and lettin me VENT.......(cept you lee........bad bad lee) |

Title: Re: Oh ohhhhhhh Post by _Lee_ on Feb 24th, 2006, 1:39am Jonny, frind a new one, you have worn this one out, want me to wear the other one out, about you? on Feb 5th, 2006, 3:43am, Dave_Emond wrote:Sasafrassumsucerukum ..... LEE ! You ask for us to decide, well ... after this crap ... I'll decide to have nothing further to do with you! Why? You come to me and tell me a "sad" story of how you're being picked on,(prove that dave) even had me believing it,(If you can't read than?) enough to give you some support. But now I see this, and other posts that show you to be the opposite of how you presented yourself and problems to me. If you want to play games merely for the sake of keeping all this crap going ... count me out. The post you put up to begin this thread was made by me in another thread and under my name and was resolved as far as I am concerned. It's now here, out of context and posted as if you wrote it. If you wanted to copy and paste you could at least put it in quotes and then put in your two cents and signed it like a man and not hide behind a ficticious name. jonny: I know we've gone around now and then and then leave well enough alone. But ... this time I'm going to personally apologize to you, I was wrong ... Lee is acting like a troll here only to stir things up and has taken it too far. I'm sorry to all that I fell for this and ever got involved. Lee: No more PM's ... I'm not buying your crap anymore. You lied to me and had me thinking you were being unjustly treated ... wrong! You bring this on yourself! "Who is Lee?" Give me a break! Give us all a break ... Ahem is Lee! You and I both know it. Now, leave me out of your school games! Decide? I decide not to trust another word you ever say! Ya managed one thing though Lee 'ol boy! You're the first to get me to apologize to jonny and admit I was wrong! Play your games Lee, but leave me out of them. Try being a man and think for yourself and post under your own name like a man! Dave (BTW: my tag line at the bottom is meant as a joke about doctors that can't figure the difference between their ass and a hole in the ground. Smithson though so too, so in frustration he made that quote before he died.) One, count em disagrement with dave ever and jonny gets his nut off every time he posts it, what a juvinile. |

Title: Re: Oh ohhhhhhh Post by Karla on Feb 24th, 2006, 10:56am The pain clinics here are no more expensive than going to see a regular neurologist. Because that is who you are seeing. A neuro who specializes in pain/ha. That is my ha/pain clinic I go to. I know of other pain clinics that are run by anastesiolgists and they are more into pain meds and recomending surgery etc. It just depends on what kind of pain clinic it is they vary. Sorry I can't be of more help. If the pain clinic is not a ha/pain clinic your better off just finding a neuro in town or a gp. When I changed my insurance a couple of years ago I dreaded dr shopping because of all the meds I was on. However, I simply explained ch to the dr, said I had been to the pain clinic and seen several drs and this is the meds that worked for me to give me a quality of life and he didn't argue and just had me sign a statement saying I wouldn't share my meds and that If for any reason lost, stolen, etc my meds come up missing I will NOT get a refill. I used to have to see my regular gp to get my pain meds every month. Now he trusts me and I go once every other month. So it is possible to find a dr that will follow the regiment of what you are on currently. |

Title: Re: Oh ohhhhhhh Post by cootie on Feb 24th, 2006, 12:20pm Well I got an apt with my docs old partner that took over for the one that moved out of state.....but my doc moved next door after a year or two cuz he said there were too many shinanigans goin on between his partner and the secretary's. I didn't even know of the X partner was still there or would take new patients so I just called a bit ago. The secretary was actually NICE AS HELL AND CHATTY......"shock" ! She said this other doc DOES care for chronic pain patients and also dealing with cluster headaches. I will have our records sent there....we gotta pay for that to be done. I have breifly met the guy before and people seem to like him. I dunno IF he will follow my docs plan but if he can help with sumthin and sudden migraines I get from my neck I can't complain too much. Looks like Brad will be ok with his ch and this guy......I'm still a nervous wreck about rehashing thru my own history and injuries and meds. I have the burning on fire spine and down my arms and one leg and that is miserable not to mention chronic pain. I'm glad this guy can help Brad tho without tryin out other docs and runnin into insensitive jerks. Found out my doc took a hospital job in Columbus. That's what the last doc did only he went to Michigan. So....wish us luck on this one cuz anything could happen......I just HOPE it works out. Partially freaked Pam Karla.....did you mean that if a scripe was stolen you had to wait till the script date was up to get anouther one and not get a replacement early ? I had a bottle of pain meds stolen and got a refill but that was cuz the date was cool from the last script. But I still worry bout that happening again. I get alot of strangers in here lookin at dogs or pups. Lee......this is a serious thread and others have ran into my same problem......what goes on here could help others. Leave your mouth at the door and your vendeta's k ? |
