Title: HELP! (update: problem solved ;))
Post by Melissa on Feb 19th, 2006, 5:05pm
I need to know if anyone knows of a site online to buy dirt cheap wedding invitations??  I opened my big mouth today on offering to pay for hubby's brother and his fiance's wedding invites as a gift from hubby & me for their wedding. :-[  They are paying for most of it, with her mom, dad and my father in law paying for some things, but otherwise they are footing the rest of the bill.  My brother in law attends college, works part time, his fiance stays home with the 3 yr old and 5 month old baby & babysits another infant.

They are strapped on cash and I know this would be a nice load off their backs, even though they were just gonna do a super informal print off their computer for the invites, I just thought it'd be nice to have some nice invites, as I know what it's like to do everything for a wedding dirt cheap.  (I never had a nice formal wedding myself)

If you guys have ANY suggestions, I'd be ever so grateful!!!

:)mel

Mellie....a question.......
if they are sending OUT 350 invites.............are they really expecting around 700 peeps???? As a rule. a guest list may be 350, but most of that would arrive as couples, unless all their friends are single.

That said, a nice font, with the specifics on it, created on your puter, then printed at home on soft vellum or some pretty paper would look nice if you backed it all with something complimentary, then, punched 2 holes, and tied these 2 sheets together with a pretty ribbon. Envelopes can be purchard pretty cheaply if the size and shape of the invites is standard...

It doesnt take much time to do this if you have a party to do the assembly.

Past this, anything you do on your puter, with the myriad of printer paper you can get your hands on, will be totally acceptable!!!

Good Luck!

Ok!  After talking with my bro in law and finding out that they have the layout, paper, envelopes and tissue overlay, I let him know that due to the expensiveness of manufacturered invites, we would instead pay for the postage. ;;D  He thought that was great! [smiley=laugh.gif]

Also, we'll help them with ink cartridges if need be and I will help to do the paper hole punch to put the ribbon through and also addressing the invites.

I don't care, I have never got to help anyone plan their wedding before, so this is a learning, but WONDERFUL experience! :D

TY for the help!!!
