I wish I could have given him more, and I hope to someday, but I did give what I could because I wanted to say thanks and to help offset the costs of the board, even in a very small way. What I gave DJ is nothing at all compared to what he gave us through this site. And yet, in true DJ fashion, he turned around and thanked US for the donations by setting up the alumni board. It's not a secret society. It's not an exclusive group that doesn't allow people into it. I didn't know it existed before I made the donation - as was the case with many of us. What I find interesting, KOP, is that you've gotten this thread from someone since you aren't an alumni member and then chosen to try to destroy me and others who have given what we can in order to thank DJ and try to help him keep this board open and free to all who suffer from and support people with cluster headaches. In that particular thread, the original poster had a valid concern as to who "Nosferatu" is based on some of the posts made by the individual. Other people were trying to determine who it was (as this person was an admitted member of this board under a different name) based on the style of text. Multiple references were made to the ",,,,,," "Sh!t" and other type style things. One reference was made that was trying to theorize who the individual was based on the fact that this person made a post about not mixing triptans with (NT) in the subject title. I didn't think that the person being referenced was that individual, but really didn't know...and all I was saying by my post was asking if you'd also been someone who used (NT) and then even said "or somebody was anyways..." meaning I knew I'd seen it in other people's posts and not just the person being referenced in the first post about NT. It was NOT about insinuating that you are "Nosferatu." In fact, it had NOTHING to do with you as a person at all...only that I thought you'd put NT in a subject heading or two and was just stating that the NT didn't definitively link anyone to the screenname. Another person posting after me also said that everyone from the old board uses the NT, so it really didn't mean anything as far as who "Nosferatu" is. I don't know what you want here. To destroy people who've given what they can to thank DJ for a site you also use freely? To destroy me because you don't like me? And frankly, I don't even care what your motives are. But I DO care very much that you're out to hurt people who've given of themselves to support DJ. Did you even think of that before you went off on this rampage? Your plot to "undo" the "secret society" was just to post a lot of skewed BS about people who are only alumni because they gave a donation. I don't know why I'm even bothering to explain this to you since it's now obvious that you're not a rational individual. Nobody believes what I wrote was meant to slander you, except YOU. And if there's anyone out there who thought that, then I hope that this thread has given them enough insight to know that wasn't the case. That's not who I am. So go ahead. Attack me all you want. Or 2) after reading this thread, all of us who never knew about the Alumni board wouldn't touch it with a mile long pole, thus, not helping DJ in any way at all. Nosferatu could actually be someone from the first message board when we frequently used NT... I think thats where you need to be looking..... and also someone that would know about the character Nosferatu and why he/she picked it.... I have an idea who it is but that is my detective work and knowing the personalities on the board.. PERSONALITIES IS A BIG CLUE..... AND THE FACT THAT ITS SOMEONE FROM THE OLD BOARD....... CH.com is a refuge for many people, all with the same malady or in support of a loved one that has CH. Yes, there are sometimes when emotions flare but I think it is normal under the circumstances (extreme pain, no sleep, fear, medication, etc.), so we all accept that we are human and that with all the support and help we will sometimes still go through some in-fighting and troll bashing(troll bashing is good as it allows us to vent some emotions on a deserving person instead of our other inmates). Now DJ has started this site and in the process saved many a life, gave many hope and allowed anyone to join, from all over the world. This allowed for many people from different backgrounds, cultures and languages to get support and a place they can feel save from the world out there that does not understand. It did not matter if you were not an American as long as you had CH, a will to support and a pc. It never depended on your financial ability, how long you were part of the board or how many posts you placed. It was always there and I believe still is, to support each other in a condition that, more often than not, become insufferable. DJ, as a gesture of thanks, gave to those who have credit cards and can contribute financially a special place in name and a private place to talk. It should be used wisely and not become a place to further split up the board with gossip, rivalry and elitism. Our duty still here, is to offer our support to anyone out there who has CH. The pain of it alone should have humbled us over the years and also made us stronger so that we are able to stand up, everyday, with hope and to give others hope. |
