ummm...never had lunch in Atlanta before.

Bout a 3 hour drive from the lakehouse.    I spose I could manage to find my way.

Barb...I'm about 40 min from I-49.   You think the shortest way for me to go is via I-49 to Shreveport and then over to 59 ???   I'm an hour and 1/2 from Lufkin..I could go that way....but I think it's further than the Shreveport route.    I'm about a hour and 15 min from Shreveport...to the south.   Guess I need to check the distance from Shreveport to Atlanta.

Checkin my trusty atlas.....I hate map quest...it always says the wrong stuff...and the routes they give are sometimes right through the cow patties.

It's gonna rain Saturday.....but then it always does when somethin good comes up     [smiley=huh.gif]

How far are you from Marshall? You can go there and hit 59 and it's a straight shot into Atlanta. I take the back roads into Atlanta from Shreveport (about 45 minutes). I've got to meet with a contractor earlier or I'd tell you to come ride with me.

I'm not sure where you are on Toledo Bend.

Sammy's BBQ is on 59 (somewhere). Welll, Atlanta isn't that big. We can find that.... The last time, we met in a parking lot of a place that was closed... :) Matt's dad thought we were "damn fools" and is probably still laughing at us. How were we to know that they were closed?

Let me know where you are and I'll try to get you some directions (this from a woman who gets lost in her driveway  :D)

take 96 up towards Center Texas then catch 59 in Tenaha. It will sure be good to meet ya'll again. Don't go through Shreveport Jean, they have casinos.........

I am 20 miles south of La 6 on La191.    Or...I could say...13 miles north of the T Bend Dam.    Matt's thought of me taking Tx 96 might just be the right way to go.   I could just head west...towards Lufkin, and go north on 96.   I mean...hell it's not like ANYONE could get lost on Hwy 59.   That hwy came across the Ark with Noah, for gosh sakes.  

OK...getting the atlas back out....I gotta get a plan.

Tommy's is around 3 miles South of Atlanta on the East side of 59, its easy to miss, if y'all would prefer to meet in Atlanta first or eat elsewhere I'm game.

I've been to and through Atlanta at least 5 times a year on the way to my grandmother's house in Kildare so many times since I was a baby.

But, don't ask me how to get there...I just seem to "know" how find my way there every time....

If the weather is gonna be nasty, we'll probably go to the gun show where it's nice and warm and they have large caliber weapons for us to look at and wish for.  

We're a bit further away than you, Barbara.  It takes me a little over an hour to make it to the 220 exit on the east side of Bossier, so we'd definitely have to deal with the bad weather a wee bit longer.  Don't want to be singing "Slip Sliding Away" on the way home.

I wish I was going to be there with you all tomorrow but I shall have a glass of wine (or several!) in your honour instead!
I'm leaving in a few to go down to Hastings on the South Coast of England to organise a Meet and Greet tonight so I'm not exactly deprived of good company myself. Its a mere 200 miles each way and worth every minute of traffic. I'll make a deal with you though, you take a camera and so will I okay?  ;;D

I'm gonna take the Hwy 96 route, it looks like it's the best for me.

I have DD's cell #, but I don't have anyone else's.   So, if any of you other than DD has one, email your # to me.
I certainly wouldn't use it unless necessary.

remember that Tommys is between Atlanta and Linden, just outside  Atlanta, if your in queen city your going the wrong way, if your in Linden, head towards Atlanta, look to your right, its on a hill by a house, I'll park my car next to 59 with my hazards on, its a Gold Ford Taurus with California tags......
Glad you ladies can still come, screw the weather, it was 12 degrees when I went to work this morning, I'll be heading into warmer weather..........
