When Jack White of the White Stripes is number 17 and Steve Vai and Joe Satriani are not on the list it tells me one thing.

ITS A BULLSHIT LIST!!!!

I do not agree with this list~~~ I think Carlos Santana has it all over Jimi Hendrix...  Eddie Van Halen has it all over about 60 of those guys he is under at #70  Joe Perry is well above Kurt Cobain......Hell he shoulda been knocked out of the top 100 because he killed himself...... also... where is MY Old friend  Paul DiBartolo of Spread Eagle (Bang) an early 90's heavy metal band from Boston he was better than alot of these Dead beats..... my opinion...... agreeing about Stevie Vai also where is he..... I call a revote... Ree

Im back to say My daughter plays bettah than Joan Jett... she plays like 3 chords over and over.... listen to some of her stuff.....

He's sick!!!

Though this dude plays a banjo, have you ever heard Bela Fleck?? He's amazing!

Jazz guitarist Lee Ritenour. AMAZING!!! so is Pat Methany!!!!!

John Petrucci from Dream Theatre is one of the most amazing guitarists that I have ever seen heard worshipped!

Yeah, there's problems here.   ;;D

Ike Turner appears apparently greater than:

Steve Howe of Yes
Eddie Van Halen
Johnny Winter
Neil Young
Dave Gilmour of Pink Floyd
Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath
Robbie Krieger of the Doors
and
Angus Young of AC/DC

I was at the SRV/Eric Clapton/Robert Cray show at Alpine Valley in Wisconsin that tragic night.
I drove home.
I wish SRV had too.

and, the Romantics, before making it.

1970s Detroit garage rock and hard rock (as represented by such performers as Iggy Pop, the Stooges, the MC5, and the Rationals), and the punk rock of the Ramones, the Romantics plays a more pop-oriented variation of punk rock known as power pop.

Hello,

I'm from Seattle so hey, Jimi, yeah. Did stuff that hasn't been duplicated yet. SRV came close, Duane Allman could do them all. "Clapton is God" can't argue. Riley King (aka Blues Boy, aka B.B. King) remains my fav. Just listen, it's TWO voices, sends chills down my spine.

BIG omission, Django Reinhardt. You cannot talk guitar without him.

Regards

Jon

Modified to show more truely how I really feel about this list.

---------------------------------------------------------------

This list is so far off I don't even know where to start ripping on it but here goes.......

That list must have been compiled by a bunch of 20 something year old, flannel wearing, drop D tuning, emo hairdo wearing, whiny little suicidal freaks who like to listen to 2 chord , cookie cutter songs with no real musical value at all because they certainly don't have a clue who belongs up at the top. AND.......

EVH #70?

No listings of Gary Moore, Joe Satriani or Eric Johnson?

Cobain #12, Jerry Garcia #13???? I don't think so.

WTF!!!

This list was definately NOT compiled by other guitar players.

I can personally drop one of my guitars on the floor and get more music out of it than Cocaine... I mean Cobain could get out of his on a good day.

And Joan Jett comes in just two spots behind Randy Rhoads??? I don't get it.

I could go through that list and come up with a top 50 list of people who shouldn't be on the top 100 list.

This is why I don't read Rolling Stone. It's written by morons.

AND.........

How come Carl, Rex and I didn't make it to the list???

Kurt Cobain at #12, what a fucking joke, that guy sucked.

Did I mention Kurt Cobain was my hero?

Why you ask?

Because he killed Kurt Cobain.  ;;D

and I guess ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons don't even rate.  Yeah, that's a good one.

OOOOOOH!!! This list is such a fucking joke!  >:(
Just the fact that they have RANDY RHOADS listed at #85 proves they don't know dick from duck! Randy was the reason I traded my drumset for a guitar!!! He inspired so many and wrote from beautiful to fierce!!!

Where the fuck is Eric Johnson, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Jeff Healey, Andreas Segovia, Tony MacAlpine, Adrian Belew, Michaelangelo, Christopher Parkening, Frank Gambale and Marty Friedman? They own over half the rotten ass fucks on this list!

While I love Black Flag and Nirvana...
Greg Ginn and Kurt Cobain listed as "One of the top 100 of all time" is a rape of what this list should be.

Half-brained bullshit lists like this just fucking piss me off!!! I can play better with one hand than some of these pickers can with two!!!

Don't EVEN get me started!!!

Grrrrrrrr,
Carl D

Thanks Thomas.

I say, that I certainly hope that isn't the final list, and most definately not in order.
Who gets to decide who makes the list and why? What are the criteria and are they the same a-holes that jacked up the NFL tie-breaking rules when they shifted the divisions? :-X

But I ain't bitter... nope, not me  ::)
